Basically what the summary says. Tantoo Cardinal is superb as long-time companion to Rip Torn's character--equally appropriate as movie-version of Howard Frank Mosher's main type in book. Seldom have seen a movie that captured the essence of the book so well. (No, but I saw the movie: this film really can take the place of the book, it so faithfully depicts the written story--but almost better because the graphical presentation is so evocative of what Mosher wrote!) I don't want to discourage the reader from actually reading the book, but this is one case where the movie version could really suffice! And Tantoo Cardinal is, well, almost better than the character in the book--and Rip Torn, as well.
