Sean Astin announced on a radio talk show that a sequel for The Goonies is definitely going to happen.

Richard Donner confirmed a sequel is on its way while signing autographs.

Sean Astin and Corey Feldmen originally pitched an idea for The Goonies 2 to Richard Donner, and while Donner liked the idea, he thought he wouldn't have received a big enough budget to make the movie the way they planned it, and also he wanted the movie to be on a smaller scale and have a more personal feel to it.

Jeff Cohen the actor who plays Chunk in the original "The Goonies" movie has confirmed he won't be returning for the sequel.

This movie will be filmed at the Fort George Brewery in Astoria, Oregon.
