The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau Life at the End of the World (1966–1976) watch online HD

"Life at the End of the World" is certainly not among the better episodes of "The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau". I cannot blame them for not having Rod Serling narrate, as he had unexpectedly died soon before the show was made and Joseph Campanella had to fill in instead. What bothered me were two things--that so little time was actually spend in the water exploring and when the narrator repeated a HUGE historical myth-- saying that in Columbus' day folks were afraid of falling off the edge of a the Earth. This myth was created in the 19th century and no one except total idiots believed it during Columbus' time. Also despite the narration, they did NOT widely believe in sea monsters! I could explain why these are myths at length, but I am sure you don't want a lengthy lecture by a retired history teacher!

As for the sea exploration, only a little occurred in this one and it was in the first half of the show. You see whales, seals and Hake (a fish in the cod family) but not a whole lot more. Then, oddly, the rest of the show consists of Cousteau meeting with the natives living at the very bottom of South America. The Kawashkar look a lot like the Inuit people of the far North and you'll get to see Jacques ask him some patronizing questions and discuss these people who are dying out. Not what I expected and handled a tad awkwardly, that's for sure.

Now that I think about it, with all my complaints it really wasn't a very good episode.
