I am always on the lookout for new indie horror films. The majority of them are low budget slashers, which I do enjoy from time to time, but they are all pretty much the same.

I was pretty pumped after watching the trailer for The Midnight Matinée, and I am sure glad I checked this one out. Very cool movie with each story being totally unique and stylish. My only complaint was that it wasn't longer, but definitely an easy watch and one of my favorite horror films I have seen in quite some time.

There are five stories in this film and honestly, i enjoyed each story one way or another. I definitely had a couple of my more favorite of the stories, and it was funny cuz they were different from my husbands favorites. So i guess to each their own. We both loved how each story had a surprise or twist ending. Definitely a unique film

I am a big horror movie junkie and when I heard about this one, I was pretty intrigued. I like indie film, but some are hit and miss. Anyways, I can easily say this was one of the coolest films I have seen in a while.

There are 5 short films throughout the feature and each story is completely different from the next. They were all really intriguing and they each had their own cool twist ending. I was highly entertained to say the least and would highly recommend to anyone who likes anthology type films.

The 40+ minutes of this movie went by way too quick. I loved the first film!!! What a story... I don't want to spoil anything but that one was super intriguing and kept me interested with what was to come next. And each of the stories that followed were SO different, each of them so creative and surprising. I definitely recommend giving it a watch - especially if you're a fan of good story-telling & elements of surprise. OH - and the way it was put together with 'old movie' style was such a neat element!

Just watched this one on Amazon. Couple of the stories were little too short for me but still very effective. My favorite two stories were the first and last ones. Very creative and really liked the in between stuff with the quotes. Clever film and would definitely recommend. Not extremely scary but nice payoffs for each ending.

Im a sucker for any type of horror film, from found footage to slasher. This one was a nice change from a lot of the horror films I've seen recently. It felt very old school but had a lot of originality and most of the stories in this anthology had some good twists. I definitely liked some of the stories better than others, the last one being the best out of the bunch. Would definitely recommend to anyone that like horror anthologies.

Big horror fan, esp. of anthologies, so I was inclined to like this, and there are some fun things about it, but production was weak; most of the acting was amateurish, the tempo of the stories uneven, and the editing off-putting. it felt like people got together because they love horror movies and decided to make one. Good news, its free with Prime. Fun to have on the television while doing boring things for work.

How can you be filmmaker of the year when you aren't using film? This 46 minute *film* looks like it was shot on a smart phone and a GoPro (likely because it was). It qualifies as a short because it doesn't even make it to an hour. The first segment (of 5) takes nearly 8 and a half mins. with less than 30 seconds of payoff, and a final scene shot by a character that doesn't exist. The rest of the stories all have washed-out color, appear to have been shot in 1 or 2 takes, poor nat sound, zero production value, and a song thrown in here and there. Extra points for the sex chair thrown into the last episode for no reason. Considering the new normal of everyone being an auteur in making vids and putting them up for free on YouTube, this, for Generation Z and millennials, is apparently the future of horror to have gotten a deal on Amazon Prime. I weep for future generations.

Stole the intro from popular game Five Nights At Freddy's: Sister Location, when Baby does her little 'the show will start momentarily' thing. Threw me for a loop when I first heard it. The slides between movie parts look like they were made in Windows Movie Maker, and the whole thing, regardless of what movie part is playing, has a low-quality, 2009-esque 'old-film' filter over it. Acting is sub-par, if you can even call it that, all film is generally garbage. There's a ton of close-ups that made me and my friend really uncomfortable to even look at, and I don't mean in the 'it's creepy' way, I mean in the 'ugh, that's just vile' way. Most premises don't make any sense and the 'how' is never explained at all. There's a ton of music, including 'Sail' by AWOLNATION that I'm pretty sure they didn't get the rights to use, but the backing tracks for the in-between slides are all some Royalty Free stuff you'd find by Kevin MacLeod.

So all these high ratings come from accounts made 4 months ago, with the only movie they've ever reviewed being this one. Sounds like whoever made this horrible movie thought they'd be sneaky and posts clearly bias reviews to trick people into checking it out.

This movie is bad, really bad. The acting is horrible, the camera work is even worse. It's like a bunch of friends got drunk and decided to write a script then shoot it the next day hungover. If you really want to watch an anthology film go check out Trick 'r Treat (2007) or Southbound (2015).

This is five short films done in 40 minutes, I'll let you do the math there. The first one "Open Sea" is a hand held camera. It is done this way for the surprise ending which was no surprise. Second feature "Let Go" was also no surprise and really wasn't worth viewing. The third feature, "Premonition" I actually liked and could be made feature length. "Frances" was not horror and while cute, there was nothing to indicate what was going on or how the woman knew. The final short was just a dumb clown story that wasn't shot hand held, but looked like it.

Justin Doescher wrote, directer, and starred in the first feature. This was more like a film school project than a serious production. Camera shots were not great. Most of the stories lacked originality or explanation. None were remotely scary. Maggie Tehan should get some sun first before being shot in a bikini. The dramatic killer pause didn't work.

Guide: 1 F-word in episode 4. No sex or nudity
