Short summary

Charley Tate, a nice enough guy but somewhat of a braggart, takes his wife Lucy on a trip to Florida for their 50th wedding anniversary. While there, they run into one of Lucy's old boyfriends. Even though the ex-lover is himself married, Charley feels the need to prove to his wife--and himself--that she made the right choice 50 years before.

Yes, the film may seem 'slow' in terns of what we call 'good cinema' today - filled with action and computer generated antics. However, no film with TERESA WRIGHT or JAMES WHITMORE could be called dull. She, particularly, is one of the great, and most emotive, of all screen performers.

The story itself is about an 'eternal truth' -- the choices we make in life about who we love, who we live with and the perspective the span of time in life reveals about our choices.

A quiet film, yes. A realistic film, yes. A thought provoking film, yes. And, placed forever on film two more outstanding performances from two outstanding performers -- who learned acting when that truly meant something to sustain a film. A solid '8' in my book!

About all they did through the whole movie was play different games. I had to force myself not to fall asleep. The only funny part was when Cora's teeth fell out! The only reason I watched it was because my sister had to do a report on it for school. She wasn't impressed either.
