Cimarron City Child of Fear (1958–1960) watch online HD

CIMARRON CITY didn't quite last an entire 39 episode season (26 overall), and with the focus on three different stars it never seemed to gel despite being set in the same town. Top billing went to George Montgomery, who played Mayor Matt Rockford, followed by Audrey Totter's Beth Purcell (gone after 21 episodes), then John Smith as Deputy Sheriff Lane Temple, the role most likely to be a Western lead. "Child of Fear" mirrors its model GUNSMOKE in its frank depiction of a young innocent, Nancy Tucker (Luana Anders), living under the tyrannical rule of her father Jared (John Carradine), a psychotic misogynist who murders a local woman in the opening scene, then escapes with his daughter to Cimarron. He's always reading from the good book and seems to know every move Nancy makes, so that when young Jesse Stainback (Tom Pittman) spends time drawing her portrait he finds it and disciplines her with a strap. When Jesse's foster mother sees how badly the girl has been beaten she threatens to tell Sheriff Temple but becomes Tucker's second victim. This time Jesse gets singled out as the culprit, but the killer's previous murder does catch up with him. Legendary scene stealer John Carradine isn't bad, but how the townspeople of Cimarron miss the gleam in his eye only the screenwriter knows for sure. Tom Pittman, his co-star in "The True Story of Jesse James" and "The Proud Rebel," had been dead three months by the time this aired, while the 20 year old beauty Luana Anders was making only her fifth television appearance.
