During the darkes days of the Great Depression, even the sanest, most rational men were driven to desperate acts.....sometimes, even murder. Hard Traveling is the story of one such man and his impassioned struggle against his past, his conscience, and against the justice system that threatens his life and freedom.

Based on Alvah Bessie's critically acclaimed novel, "Bread and a Stone", this is the story of Ed Sloan - unemployed farmworker, loving husband and father.....and accused muderer. A man, like any other, trying to rise above the fallen hopes and broken dreams of his era.

Caught, Accused. Subjected to a hostile courtroom. Ed Sloan fights to maintain dignity in the face of mounting opposition. And fights to save the cherished respect and affection of his wife, Norah.

Incisive and powerful, sensitive and moving, Hard Traveling is a story of love, hardship, desperation, and hope.

Not long before WWII, a young, daft and uneducated man who doesn't really belong anywhere is accused of murder, and this asks the question, "why is just the rumor enough?" and sets up(if it could follow through more on it) why bad things happen, rather than just focusing on punishing those that do them and promoting the hatred of them. He and a woman have a sweet relationship with one another, and he finally feels accepted. This is tragic and rings true to anyone who's been mistreated for the way they were even when they couldn't help it. It's also got a reasonable pace... early on. Then it seemed to get to be kinda slow, and honestly, this just never quite got me all the way interested. For being around 90 minutes long, this feels at least twice that. There is some humor in this. The acting is pretty good. I couldn't really recognize Corbin early on(seemingly the only person I know in this), which is probably because he doesn't speak in the Southern accent I'm used to from Red Alert 2 and One Tree Hill. There is a little bit of moderate language in this. I recommend this to those who like love stories and don't need them to end all hunky-dory. 6/10
