Episode 2 of the second series Life and Death Row is called Punishment.

In April 2013, Shawn Ford Jr who was only 18 years old was accused of killing his ex-girlfriend's parents with a sledgehammer. Ten days earlier he had stabbed and beaten up his ex-girlfriend.

At his trial his lawyers realise that Ford is at risk of the death penalty. The jury must decide whether he should get life in prison or face execution.

This documentary follows the court case from the point of the jurors, law enforcement, the victims family and the defendant's family. Ford's mother pleads for his life. His lawyer makes an impassioned plea for the jury to spare him.

What was interesting was to hear from some of the conflicted jurors who realised that most of them were adamant that Ford must pay for his crimes with his life.
