Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (2002) watch online HD

On September 24, 2002 I bought Sly Cooper on a whim and little did I know that this game would end up being the greatest platform game ever made. One of the best "hunch" buys I ever made.

Sly Cooper is as close to perfection as a platformer can reach. Outstanding story, superb "cel-shaded (toon-shaded)" graphics, excellent and easy to use controls, fine music, and tons of unlockables and replay value make this game worth getting now that it's a PS2 Greatest Hits game.

Sly Cooper is the latest in a line of Thief Raccoons; thieves so great that they don't steal from regular folks, but from other thieves. When Sly was 8, he was to inherit the Thievius Raccoonus, which contained all the secrets to their success. On the eve of his 8th birthday, 5 master thieves broke into his house, killed his father, and stole the TR away. Sly then lived in an orphanage for 10 years before plotting his revenge against those who offed his father. He met up with Bentley, a genius-geek turtle who lets him know what traps are in his way as he goes and Murray, a hippo who's their wheel-man. Together, the trio make an awesome team.

There's also Carmelita Montoya Fox, a police detective who's been trying to arrest Sly for his prior crimes. It's kind of an homage to the Duke boys and Roscoe.

Sly Cooper goes through five worlds, trying to reach the boss. Along the way, he can open safes that can get him more powers because they contain pages of the Thievius Raccoonus. He must destroy all the bottles to open the safe. You'll go through beautiful, easy to traverse levels that are interspersed by great mini-games. You'll race around a track as Murray, try to keep Murray from being assaulted by enemies as he tries to collect a key, and play Robotron-style levels. The final level is just like a bunch of mini-games put together as a level. There's so much variety. The game relies on some stealth, as you must avoid tripping alarms and traps in each level. The boss levels are awesome, too. One boss has you using Parappa The Rapper button presses to defeat her.

With lots of secrets like "director's commentaries" and film clips to unlock. this game is filled with stuff to do. It's a little short, but I'm sure you'll want to play this one multiple times. For $20 U.S., it's a no-brainer; buy it!

If you a fan of the popular classic Platform PlayStation 1 games like Spyro(mostly),Crash Bandicoot or Jack and daxter,this game is for you! But this game gets many elements from Spyro, This is why: Portals: you enter levels by portals to different levels. And they make a sound when your near one. Thats spyro the dragon reference. HomeWorlds:Like Spyro, The levels are connected the Homeworlds where you enter levels,gain extra lives and lucky charm. But they are only entered if you beat the first level. And also you cant access the whole home world without obtaining certain amount of keys for the locks. Thats a reference to spyro ripto rage. Characters:don't Bentley and Murray eyes look familiar to ya ll? It looks like spyro or aku aku eyes. Slys health:Just like those platform games i mentioned, spyro health was the color of sparx and crash health was how strong aku aku is, the brigther his feather is,the more hit points you have. Sly's health is how bright the lucky charm is. And its similar to sparx health.Because when he gets Hit,his aura changes color. Collectibles:well you collect clues to get new abilities: No references.you collect keys to end the level: that's a reference to spyro ripto rage.You collect coins which 100 gives you a lucky charm: no references. Enemies:well enemies may be difficult to defeat but if you follow its pattern and movement,it will be a piece of cake! Abilities:sly can jump and use other stealthy moves.its like gaining abilities from spyro ripto rage. Thats all there is! Well time for my review: Story:The story is about Sly's life and his family history. But it was torn apart when the fiendish fives arrived and killed his parents.So without his parents,he was sent to orphanage where he met his two best pals Murray and Bentley! They play stealth games,stealing and robing. All sly's life he's been doing it to the good. But he decided to do the right thing this time for his family and his life! He decided to get revenge on the fiendish five with the help with his friends to get the pages of the book the fiendish five stole back!The stories are divided into each chapter and thats each home worlds. So the story is pretty good.no problem.score:7 Characters:the characters are great!you have Sly the doing,Bentley the genius and Murray the hulk! They all put their abilities to use to solve the crimes!But Bentley gets overprotected of sly sometimes!Score:8 GamePlay: Its fun. Have you've ever picked up one of those games you thought would be really bad, but instead you fell in love with at first game playing session? This is what happened with me!

The story, as expected, follows our protagonist, Sly Cooper (who comes from a long line of thieves), as he searches for the pages of his family's heirloom, the Thievius Raccoonus, which holds all of the family's thieving. You see, when Sly was just a young cub, five intruders showed up in his home and murdered his father. As if that wasn't bad enough, these five fiends also stole all of the pages of the Thievius Raccoonus. Fast forward a few years later, after Sly has met his pals Murray, the clumsy but brave hippo and Bentley, the worrywart, geeky turtle and now you have the present time of the game!

While Sly adventures, he will have the aid of tight and intuitive controls, smooth animation, his special cane (which is useful for hooking on to objects and whacking foes) and pages he collects that unlock more moves for him, whether you chose to collect them or not. And what would a thief be without stealth moves? You WILL be making Sly sneak along walls whenever you see a blue aura, which assists you as you progress through the game.

The worlds Sly travels within are very gorgeous to look at. With a combination of cel-shading and cartoony graphics, this game will provide you with plenty of eye candy. Unfortunately, the view is ruined whenever the frame rate drops and strangely, it rarely happens when there are enemies on the screen, nor does it ever really hamper with your game play.

This game is jam-packed with variety. You'll never be bored. Heck, how often do you get extremely entertaining chase scenes on rooftops or with fireworks? Or a unique boss battle that plays like a rhythm game? Speaking of which, the five villains aren't the only folks you must deal with! Being a thief, you're also going to get chased by the police. Namely: Carmelita Fox, who also happens to be Sly's love interest (or so it seems).

The characters, before I forget, have excellent voice acting (most of the time)! They truly set a mood to the game, something that is rare these days! Sucker Punch truly has great taste in voice acting (well, except Carmelita--she sounds a bit overdone sometimes).

So, top all of this goodness off with a $20 price tag and what do you get? A game you should go and get now!

Sly Cooper is definitely one of the best plat formers ever made for the Playstation 2. This game has excellent graphics, great sound effects and music, and upbeat voice acting. The other good plat formers for the PS2 are Pac-Man World 2 and Jak and Daxter (even though I haven't played it yet).

In the storyline for this game, Sly receives the Thievius Raccoonus, a book written over generations by members of the Cooper thief clan, from his father on his eighth birthday. But the Fiendish Five, a gang of ruthless criminals led by the mysterious cyborg owl Clockwerk, kill Mr. Cooper, steal the Thievius Raccoonus, and rip it into 5 sections of pages. Sly then lives in an orphanage for 10 years, where he befriends tech genius turtle Bentley, and and cowardly hippo Murray. Together, they work to get back the Thievius Raccoonus and destroy the Fiendish Five. There is also Carmelita Fox, an attractive police chief hell-bent on capturing Sly.

The game has a lot of fun sub-games like the one where you move a gun and shoot enemies to help Murray make a run for the key, and one where you participate in races in order to get the key. My favorite sub-game is where I move Carmelita's gun in order to shoot away lava slugs in order to make Sly retrieve his cane. They are absolutely fun and entertaining.

There are also a lot of unlockable Sly movies, e.g. when you get all of the pages of the Thievius Raccoonus, it shows that Sly is now a master thief. My favorite unlockable is the Japanese version of the first Sly Cooper movie, because the animation and art style is far more refined and smoother than the original English movie, and the Japanese speech sounds a lot better than the English speech.

By far, Sly Cooper is THE definitive plat former for the PS2, and I can't wait for the sequel, where you would pick from Sly, Murray, or Bentley. I give this game a 10/10.

I saw this game on shelves many years ago and was keen on the new character of Sly Cooper, but I had a Gamecube, not a PS2, and thus it was not an option. With the new HD remaster available I gave the game a chance and, while it's a bit dated in terms of gameplay, it is a fun and non-stressful.

You play as the titular raccoon, a master thief from a long line of master thieves who travels the world on various heists while fighting multiple anthropomorphic furries. It reminded me a lot of the Scooby-Doo games of the same era. The only thing that bugged me was the horrendous voice-acting from the guy who actually plays Sly. He was just awful, and since the cut-scenes are unskippable you HAD to listen to him.

Quite easy for the most part though, and a fun game that won't have you tearing your hair out.

First off, this game is all around good.

Everything from the voices to the animation is great.

The first time I saw this game, I had a feeling this was gonna be good.

This game is about a raccoon who is kind of a "theif of thieves," growing up around a whole ancestry of master thieves, on the night of his 8th birthday when he was supposed to inherit the family's legendary book, The Thievius Raccoonus, a gang of villains known as the Fiendish 5, ransacked his house until they found it and they split the book among themselves and split up to different parts of the world to commit crimes.

The level design was excellent.

I hate for this to be like a spoiler, but by the looks of things, judging by the end of the credits, I'd say that there'll be another Sly Cooper game. At the end of the credits, Clockwerk's eye opens up, signifying that he's still very much alive.

I give this game a 10 out of 10.

This game is very good for it's generation but it don't passes the second game the second is the best of the series. I like the final boss because he's very powerful and you must go to the first level to collect lives in order to beat him. And believe me this is the last game i played from the series. First i played Sly 2 then Sly 3 and finally Sly 1. They were all great. I can play them all because i own the Sly Trilogy for the PlayStation 3. The only bad thing about this game is the lives you must collect a few in order to beat hard bosses. But play this game is very good and it contains amazing stages. My favorite is Ruby's swamp.

Animals, Cartoonism, Film Noir, Crash Bandicoot gameplay, this game has it all. I just got the PS Vita and the Sly collection simultaneously, and I love the whole concept of it all! Sly Cooper is a very interesting video game character, like a Racoon version of Robin Hood, only stealing from other thieves. Of course there are many other great characters as well. From Murray the powerhouse, to the nerdy genius Bentley (the real show stealer with his quirky dialogue) and don't forget the lovely, not to mention volatile tempered Carmelita Fox (who doesn't have a crush on this babe?). Don't forget the memorable Fiendish Five have their own quirks as well, my personal favorites are the Panda King (while being relatively easy, he's got a cool voice and moves) and Mz. Ruby (her Simon-Says Voodoo game just oozes style). The only negatives I can say is that I'm not too fond of one-hit-kill deaths since I find them annoying though at least you get unlimited continues, and the other is the game is pretty short. Other than that, this is a good game that started a franchise.

I started out playing Sony games on PS2. My First one was Ratchet and Clank and I asked myself when I was done, whats next on my Sony games list, and then I heard about Sly Cooper. I Bought it and went home, when I popped the disc in I was so exited. I played the whole thing through and it was great. I loved the idea behind all the thievery and how you saw him as a hero, but he's actually a thief. I've played it through and the two others and most other Sony games, but none other has held my respect and gratitude and has earned a throne next to my PS2, and recently, PS3. I beat it all the way through and have 100% on all three and the Minigames. I can't wait until the 4th one comes out on PS3
