A successful German photographer walks away from it all to settle on a mesa in remote Southern Utah where he explores a life as an artist. Anselm Spring gave up professional photography the day he realized he wanted his own life to be 'as overwhelming as nature is'. This poetic portrait of a puzzling artist captures the paradoxes that run through an artist who's mission is to convey 'truth' through his art using materials such as Fruit Loops, animal bones, and barbie dolls, with a few Jesus figurines thrown in. Spring proves to be a provocative subject, surprisingly insightful one moment, slyly winking the next. Fool on the hill, or genius on the Mountaintop. Your conclusion may surprise you.
