Short summary

After the death of a wealthy Croatian emigrant, it is discovered that he left his fortune to an unknown, illegitimate relative back in Croatia.
Bartul Burt Marinkovich, a Croatian emigree-turned millionaire, dies and unexpectedly leaves his millions not to his beautiful young wife, Nicole, but to his heretofore unknown, illegitimate nephew, Bepo Stambuk, who is living in Bol on the island of Brac. This is Marinkovich's posthumous revenge on Nicole for his discovery that she has been having a long-standing affair with his personal secretary, Douglas Caine. A young lawyer of Croatian descent named Elisabeth Horvath is assigned to find Bepo and transfer his inheritance to him, but at the same time, Nicole and Caine hire two assassins to go to Brac and kill Marinkovich's heir. When Horvath and the two assassins arrive, they discover independently that there are three men in Bol named Bepo Stambuk, and must figure out which is the right one.

Mirena who wrote previous comment is probably 12 years old or she has really bad taste in movies. This movie is rather bad but it should be notice that it is one rare example of private investing in Croatian cinematography. In this county where only state funded directors are supposed to direct boring art movies it is quite nice to see somebody trying to do something different. The story is wick and you can see right through it. Acting looks like summer workshop where everybody just have lot of fun without care for final result. Only good thing that I can mention is photography because Croatian coast looks really astonishing. You might like this movie if you like Bud Spencer & Terennce Hill type of humor. Otherwise, go look somewhere else! Cheers!

I watched this top one percent movie in a cinema tonight. This nice movie has got all necessary features that are required:nice humor, dinamic action, nice and beautiful girls. You will have an excellent time from the beginning till the very end of this movie. What is very important for non-Croatian viewers, is the fact that You are dealing with typical Croatian humor of the Dalmatian-Adriatic coast.

This movie is one of the worst movies that have been made in Croatia. If someone advice you to look at this movie, don't do it.If someone says you that this is the best Croatian film ever, don't listen' to him."Posljednja volja" is a type of movie that you can skip.I don't know why Goran Visnjic accepted this role. This was his mistake. He is a very good actor and even in this movie he has some bright moments. But he can't pull this movie without some help.He doesn't have any help from the director, nor the leading actors.Although in this movie you can see some of the legends of Croatian film, they're not in the leading rolls. That's why this movie is just not good in my opinion.Too many bad sides that can be found if you're a realistic watcher.

Good Croatian movie, trying to adjust American standards, makes a nice step to forwarding Croatian cinematography! It isn't high quality, but for small country production very advanced, so if for nothing else, deserved plus is for trying!

Good humor, not so good acting, plot- OK, but could be better.. People should like it because it is relaxing, and it offers you good laugh!

I would recommend it, just to see our beautiful country, to see Goran Visnjic, not in his best, but worth of seeing in company of beautiful girls and veterans of Croatian movie! =)

    6.5/10

I am a big-time movie critic and I want to let you all know. We definitely have some unfair comments in here. Anyone against Croatia please leave now because the comments i have read have been ridiculous and uncalled for. I found this film to be very humorous and very real concerning the type of language and humor in dalmatian society. We have a lot of misinformed and uneducated people here who do not understand the background of Croatian people nor who have any clue where Croatia is located. For our small percentage of Croatian-haters here (serbs) please go and rate a Serbian crappy film like 'Mi Nismo Andjeli'. This movie is a definite must for all Croatian and especially the Dalmatinci !!!!Goran Visnjic is a star ! Nice finishing touch in this movie..nice ending :-) 10/10 !!

This movie has -in a good way- the low-budget charm of a high school movie, using slightly sub-par film quality, seemingly local actors, and no special effects.

There's a lot of humor, and the movie doesn't take itself seriously - fitting well with the immature attitude of the main protagonist. After seeing the movie halfway and falling asleep (I typically watch a few movies in bed), I caught myself wanting to see the end the next day - and I was pleased I did. Except from Angelica Bridges (Baywatch) in a support role, I didn't recognize any actor - although lead actor Goran Visnjic has later, apparently, played in such movies as 'Elektra' and 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'.

The story is nice and the sometimes irrelevant subplots don't bore, although the ending seemed a bit rushed and predictable.

If you like 'Le gendarme de Saint-Tropez' style movies, you may like this too.
