Short summary
Nick and Smooches fear the laundry room or so that's what the dog shrink ICIZZLE is called to help with. Instead of help with their fear of the laundry room Nick and Smooches set the dog shrink ICIZZLE up to take the fall for a cat food heist that ensues in a plan gone wrong.
The script for the voice work was to be kept so secret that the producers personally shredded the script after every voicing session.
Dog IDS: The Heist is the only G rated animated film to be nominated for a Wide Awake Award for Best Animated Feature. It is also the only film based on a short story to do so.
Work on the script began in 2009. 167 drafts were written.
Kenny Loggins, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise, and Ian Cranston all recorded lines for the film, but their scenes were cut.
Kevin Bacon had a small cameo with his sons, Exon and Kris P. as an alternative Nick And Smooches family living outside of the home. The scene was eventually cut.
