Portuguese anime dubbing artist Celino Santos was not available to reprise his role as the Castellan who had last been seen in "Prediction of the Seer". This was instead performed by Rex Duis as an imitation, playing opposite himself as Lord President Carridon in the same scenes.
Originally the seventh story in season 3. Although the narrative flows on directly from the previous serial, "The Naenara Disaster", there was originally scripted a 3 part story called "Legacy of the Ice Warriors" by Aaron J. Climas. Climas had previously written "The Secret Warrior" and "The Dalek Trap".
