He questions Joe, who recalls to himself that he found Melissa's body and stole a necklace which he gave to Liz. Later he confesses to killing her but Len is not convinced, especially when he discovers that Liz has been on the run since her stepfather died in suspicious circumstances. Some months later, the case apparently resolved, Vidya has thrown Michael out for his affair with Liz and is raising her baby with help from Len, who has moved into the building.
