Short summary

On a dark and stormy night, a genial computer specialist is called to a remote monastery to shut down an old computer system. Of course, if it were that easy, it wouldn't be any fun to watch. As it turns out, this isn't just the method the devout monks use to download Enya MP3s and nun porn. The computer serves a higher purpose and the secret it protects also protects mankind from an evil as old as time. Don't miss this chilling tale that sends a potent message about our growing reliance on technology.

The entire atmosphere this short film has, from start to finish, was nothing short of spectacular. I saw this film on atomfilms.com and was blown away. By the description, it seemed like a comedy, what I got instead was a great horror short. The sound was a perfect match to the visuals. Special effects were decent. All of the cast gave a great performance as well. Pascall Ulli plays the part of Adam, a computer nerd called to monastery to shut down a computer. However, when he arrives, things don't go as planned and somehow the fate of the world ends up being in his hands. Ulli, who I compare to a German Ted Raimi, was only outdone by the main protagonist, whom I won't reveal so as not to spoil it from those who haven't seen it. Overall, this was wonderfully done and I'd love to see more work from Ivan Engler in the future.
