The entire film is POV (point of view). Rhiannon deliberately decided on this way of filming as a way of drawing the audience into her story.

The Paranormal Investigators acceptance letter that Neil provides is signed by Alfred Carpenter. This is a homage to two of Rhiannon Elizabeth Irons' favourite directors, Alfred Hitchcock and John Carpenter.
The ABN featured at the top of Neil's Paranormal Investigators acceptance letter is made up of the filming dates for the movie.
The number 624 is featured heavily in the film and refers to the start date for filming; June 26th.
Just before filming was to commence, Rhiannon Elizabeth Irons' mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. The stress and tension that Gail feels throughout the movie is heavily influence by the lack of sleep and every day stress Rhiannon was under.
Rhett Morrow is a successful circus performer. He utilized his flexibility and performing talents to create the eerie Shadow Entity.
The production company linked to Asylum is Ravens Haunt Entertainment, founded by Rhiannon Elizabeth Irons for the sole purpose to bringing Asylum, as well as future horror stories, to life.
Two versions were filmed. The first was under ten minutes and submitted to the Reel Horror Film Festival and the second was over ten minutes and contained deleted scenes, including the meeting of Dr. Jonathan Westwood and the cemetery opening sequence.
Despite having six days to film, the entire movie was shot on one night.
There were some strange occurrences on set that couldn't be explained. Flashlights would flicker inside the "Asylum" once the candles and other lighting sources were removed but the moment the actors stepped outside, they came good, and appliances would turn on and off without warning.
