The ship that the 70s cruise takes place on is named S.S. Papouli. This is a reference to Full House: The Last Dance (1994), in which Jesse's grandfather named Papouli dies and they name a boat after him.

The song Fernando sings is Sunrise Sunset from "Fiddler on the Roof". This is a reference to Full House: The First Day of School (1987), in which Danny, Jesse and Joey sing the song to D.J. and Stephanie as they leave for school.

Lee Majors and Lindsay Wagner were in the Six Million Dollar Man together. The slow motion run with "bionic" sound effect done by Lee Majors is a nod to the show.

D.J., Stephanie, and Kimmy pretend to be Charlie's Angels, a 1970s TV show which starred Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson, and Jaclyn Smith. When the "Angels" nab James, played by Lee Majors, he says, "Got me again, Farrah." The comment is a nod to the fact that back in the 1970s, Lee Majors and Farrah Fawcett were married in real-life.
