Along the way, DJ meets a cast of characters that touch his heart, make him laugh and cause him to rethink everything that he has ever known and thought was true. Having seen and reviewed a film like God Loves Uganda it's kind of hard to approach a film like The Accidental Missionary without a jaundiced eye. No doubt this will get approval from Christian audiences.

I'll say this for The Accidental Missionary. If as it states that the location shooting was in St. Louis, Missouri and Evansville, Indiana the production staff did one remarkable job in recreating Kenya where most of this story takes place.

Seth Adair is a person on the Hollywood B list of celebrities although he rates himself right up there with Tom Cruise. Through one horrible mixup instead of a resort vacation on the Spanish Riviera, Adair winds up on the African veld in Kenya at a Christian mission living with the missionaries and some very poor people.

I don't think I have to say much more. As far as it goes these people seem to be sincere, especially Jilanne Klaus who has spent her life in this work and isn't up on the latest celebrity trends. Adair's status truly does not impress her or anyone else there.

But watch films like God Loves Uganda or Call Me Kuchu where in countries like Kenya Christians are competing with Moslem extremists and both agree that gay people are really bad. I wonder what people like the late David Kato would think of this film and some of the Christian missionaries he dealt with and the effects on his country.

My view is admittedly jaundiced, but I'm less than impressed.
