Short summary

High schooler Yuta Iridatsu has experienced "astral projection" i.e. his spirit has been separated from his body. He woke up in a mansion named Koraikan and met a cat spirit named Chiranosuke, who told him "You must find the Sacred Tome of Koraikan in order to return to your physical body." While searching through corridors of Koraikan, Yuta bumped into underpants of its female residents, and doing so would, eh, create some big trouble for planet Earth.

This show is absolutely fantastic, and I would highly recommend it. This is the kind of show where any information could be a spoiler, but I'm still going to try to keep my review spoiler-free. I'd recommend not reading this review though and just watching the show.

Visuals - This show has some of the best animation I've seen. Its wonderfully stylized, the character and camera movements are fluid, and the character designs are all great. There are genuinely impressive moving shots in here that make me think that computer animation has been incorporated, but it blends seamlessly into the 2D animation that I can't tell where its being used or when if at all. Spinning shots around characters and 3D environments are frequent in this show and the way its utilized is breathtaking. I had no idea that you could do this with 2D animation.

Story - Though it may not seem like it from the first episode, this show develops into an interesting drama/mystery story. Though the panties and chaos and absurdity remains throughout the show, its definitely toned down as the runtime goes on. Though this show is very bizarre, pretty much all of the story threads are neatly tied together in a satisfying knot by the final episode.

Characters - I don't want to say a whole lot, but all of the characters end up fleshed out and interesting. The villains (for the most part) are understandable, and all the motivations make sense. Character relationships are explored in between the absurdity and everything from the character designs make these characters feel like real people. I didn't mention it yet, but the writing and dialogue in this show is fantastic.

Audio - The voice acting is great, as well as the overall sound design. One of the best things about this show is the theme song. I love it. Any sequences told through visuals or music are great.

This contains spoilers (alot): I can't properly review this without a handful of spoilers. trust me, watch this from start to finish it won't let you down. Firstly lets get these cons out of the way. This will include me pretty much explaining the first 5 episodes. Warnings (for y'all special snowflakes) -Ghost Kitty likes Kitty porn (don't make me explain) -Man trap child like pansus -Robo's -Panties -Ecchi. I'm weird and loved the anime since episode 1. Most reasonable people get sucked in at around episode 4,5,6. At first this seems like your average ecchi comedy with juice people fighting with bendy straws (not even joking). to me, the first episodes are this anime way of character, you've never really known a person until you've seen there panties (right?) to think a show with suck a weird (not bad) start could turn out to be an anime with a beautiful, compelling and heart wrenching plot (yes, I said heart wrenching and again, I'm not joking). in the first episodes you do learn a lot about the characters, we have 0 one dimensional characters here! now lets get to the part where our main character sees panties and causes the world to explode. And, no this is not a spoiler because it happens in the first or second episode. But unlike some anime's, It's explained.Everything will be explained. now go watch it and enjoy yourself! QUICK REVIEW --------------------------------------------------------------- Premise: 7/10 weird, nonsensical, if you compare it to the ending its hard to say that they're the same anime but truthfully enjoyable you won't be laughing at the end but the beginning will have you dying with laughter. Animation/Art: 10/10 whether or not you enjoy this anime, there is one thing you would have to agree on. The visuals are STUNNING, Punch-Line comes with gorgeously detailed characters with beautiful designs and fluent animation. you could not ask any more of an animator, and for art this anime is truly a masterpiece. Soundtrack: 9/10 The OST is beautiful and fitting for the anime, the song that plays during the ending scene is gorgeous and brought me to tears. My only issue with the Soundtrack is the opening theme, which is fitting for the first couple episodes, once the anime starts to get more emotional and serious the opening theme may break the mood, I suggest skipping to opening when the show gets more serious. Story: 9/10 I'm not going to say anything about the story but from me it gets this score overall because of how I interpreted the story. Overall Enjoyment: 10/10 I enjoyed every second of this anime. honestly its worth your time.

    Do I recommend: Hell yeah!
