    Leonard Cohen: Spring (1997)

    *** 1/2 (out of 4)

In 1996 musician Leonard Cohen spent time at the Mount Baldy Zen Center.and this is a documentary of his time there. The singer explains why he decided to go there and why it was important to get away from certain things in life. The documentary covers what his daily routines were at the location and this includes time in the recording studio.

Fans of Cohen will certainly love seeing this documentary as it gives you a terrific behind-the-scenes view of not only Cohen creating music but also of what he was doing with his time. There are some great things here where the musician shares his thoughts on a wide range of subjects and there are also some very funny moments including one where he's talking to the camera inside a restaurant and a worker comes up to ask him to quit filming.

The studio stuff includes songs like The Future, Waiting for a Miracle, A Thousand Kisses Deep and other familiar tracks.
