Short summary

Half-brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott trade between kinship and rivalry both on the basketball court and in the hearts of their friends in the small, but not so quiet town of Tree Hill, North Carolina.
This series follows the eventful lives of some high-school kids in Tree Hill, a small but not too quiet town in North Carolina, where the greatest source of pride is the high school basketball team, the Ravens, since living memory coached by old Whitey Durham. Its greatest talent ever was Dan Scott, who now runs a successful car dealership. The present talents are his two sons, Nathan Scott, a beautiful and popular athlete, the absolute star, who was molded and stifled by his proud dad, ambitious Dan Scott, who pushes him harder then even the coach approves of, but rather neglected by his spoiled, impulsive mother Deb, an alcoholic, and Lucas, abandoned at birth with his devoted mother, hard-working café-owner Karen Roe, who grew up with Dan's older but poor brother Keith as substitute father as a social reject, only playing hoops on a public yard in the park with street-kids, his passion being reading; when an incident forces the coach to replace suspended players, Lucas soon proves ...

Chad Michael Murray was the first actor to be cast in the show, though creator Mark Schwahn originally wanted him to play Nathan, having seen him in bad guy roles before. James Lafferty is the only regular cast member to be the actual teenager playing a high school student even though he's already 20 years old by the end of season two.

When talking about casting the role of Peyton, 'Mark Schwann (I)' said: "They asked why I wanted Hilarie Burton, and my answer was, 'She has a lot of pain in her eyes. And I want that pain in Peyton's eyes'. We always laugh about it, because Hilarie is like, 'It's a good thing a lot of crummy things happen to me in my life'."

When the song "One Tree Hill" came on, he decided to make it the title. (The song itself is named after One Tree Hill, a volcanic cone in the city of Auckland, New Zealand's largest city. The tree was removed in 2000 after being attacked in 1994, however, a plaque exists there and the location is still known as One Tree Hill, or more recently, its Maori name: Maungakiekie.)

In the first season James Lafferty's character, Nathan, is often shown with his left nipple pierced. He doesn't actually have the piercing, they glued it on when he was shirtless in a scene.

When Jamie was first written into the show, a lot of his scenes were dictated by what Jackson Brundage wanted to do. He would tell Mark Schwahn he wanted to eat ice cream, and in nearly every scene, he'd be eating ice cream. Then, he'd want to play with Antwon Tanner, who played Antwon "Skills" Taylor, so Schwahn wrote storylines for them.

I didn't have the time to catch the tv spots when by any reason a finished watching the first episode just a few weeks after the beginning of The O.C., but there's a great difference between both, even when they have a great cast, good scripts, One tree hill feels like something fresh and at the same time more emotional. Some episodes have incredible and beautiful stories, that reminds movies like "stand by me" or the first episodes of dawson's creek, it's that kind of innocence and at the same time deep drama where the whole cast make a terrific(unforgettable) work. It's the kind of show who you wanna watch for more than two hours a day feeling every episode just like a minute of the day. A real pure jewel for TV.

One Tree Hill is Warner Brothers latest effort to emulate the success of its popular 90's teenage show Dawsons Creek and it a very good job overall. This show really will appeal to the teenage audience, and young adults and it is very plot driven to this age range. The show deals with a lot of sensitive issues that teenagers face such as: sex, drugs, marriage, adoption, affairs, conflicts etc.

The show is set in the fictional town of One Tree Hill and it stars: Chad Michael Murray as honest, likable Lucas Scott, James Laferty as spoilt rich child Nathan Scott, Hillarie Burton as the lonely but good hearted Peyton and Sophia Bush as the feisty but popular Brooke. The actors and actresses cast in these young roles really are the eye candy of the show. They all put in good performances and are totally believable in their roles.

Backing up the cast are a set of adult actors and actresses and these really add another depth to the show. Paul Johansson (Dan Scott) and Moira Kelly (Karen Scott) deserve mentions as they put in great performances as the respective struggling single mother and evil father of the boys. Craig Sheffer (Keith Scott) does a strong performance as Lucas step father and Dan Scotts bother, Barbara Alyn Woods (Deb Scott) makes a good long suffering wife and mother to Dan and Nathan look believable and Barry Cobin does a sturdy performance as Coach Whitey. The adult actors really shine in this show and they help to make the characters interact as well as the children on the show.

Underneath the shows skin is the running pulse of the conflict between long-lost brothers Nathan and Lucas Scott and that is what the whole show is built on. This show works so well is because it allows the adults as much air time as the teenagers and this lets the viewers care much more about all the characters, not just the teenage ones.

The characters are nearly all beautiful, teenage girls will droll over the eye candy of Lucas and Nathan and the teenage boys will droll over Brooke and Peyton. But the fact is that these characters are all very well written and it means that the audience identifies and likes each of the characters in their own unique way. They are certainly not two dimensional characters and as the actors and actresses can act means they are believable.

One Tree Hill is one of the most underrated shows on Television, and this is due to the fact that most people dismiss this show at first hand because they compare it with other teenage shows such as The OC and thats not really fair. This show has some human like quality that makes the show seem down-to-earth and relevant to many people. It does not have the fan base popularity that other teenage shows have, but it nevertheless has a very loyal set of viewers who tune in every week to watch the latest comings and goings on in Tree Hill.

There are some very good episodes of this show, but some others that aren't so good. But the show always churns out consistently good episodes and this means it is much harder to judge how good the show really is in its genre. If you want to see a good solid teenage drama that deals with real issues, in a human way, this is the show for you. Don't miss it 10/10

Once you've seen dawsons creek, saved by the bell and the OC - it becomes pretty obvious what producers of these shows are thinking. Take a set of issues provided by someone high up in the network, add some attractive 20-something actors who pretend to be teenagers and come up with a thin way to link the two. Except, this show is the best written teen drama I've ever seen. It's a laugh a minute, it doesn't try to ride the charisma or the attractiveness of the actors/actresses, it has genuinely funny short-term plots and climaxes to long-term plots. Not having American TV, I have to watch this type of teen show specifically from buying the DVD and this one is really engaging show-to-show, not jus a weekly dose to shut up fans. The slightly over-played basketball references about 'the game' are a bit tedious and so's the obscene over-emphasis on Dan Scott being an ass but this type of scene is usually followed by a funny pick-me-up scene. Definitely worth a watch.

I'm not exactly sure HOW I got around to watching this show, but whatever it was, I'm thankful for it. One Tree Hill really sucks you into the story, it's emotional, creative, and the soundtrack is UNBELIEVABLY GOOD. While it can be compared to The OC (and yes, some factors are alike), they have many differences. One Tree Hill deals with "realer" issues, such as drugs, alcohol, falling in love. The actors are convincing and they let you peek into the lives of the unknown. Consisting of a talented cast and an amazing storyline, One Tree Hill is definitely a show you just have to watch. You'll be pulled in to the drama, love lives, and humor in the show. Amazing, amazing, show. And hey, it doesn't hurt that James Lafferty and Chad Michael Murray are on it either ;P

What I like about this series is the way common adolescent problems are addressed. Issues on drugs, sex, personality crisis, family relationships are common issues everywhere in the world. The actors do an excellent job in getting the emotions across and they continue to grow in their characters as season one goes into season two. The dramatic serious scenes are interspersed with comic lighthearted scenes once in a while but overall the show is a serious one. This is alright seeing that living a normal life is serious too. I find OC a bit irritating because they look at these issues too lightly. It would also be interesting to see how the producers would deal with other issues such as eating disturbances, depression and delinquency. I've purchased both seasons dvds and have no regrets. Looking forward to season 3.

I am in love with this show. I absolutely adore Chad Michael Murray, and am so glad I made the time to sit down and watch this show on its' premiere night. I haven't missed an episode since. This show is full of lessons for teens with a crappy attitude towards life, and it doesn't hurt that Chad is one of the characters teaching us these lessons. Yes, the story line is a little crazy and hectic, but deep down, there is a lot of love between characters. Hilarie and Chad look wonderful together on screen and have an undeniably great chemistry. James and Chad have a good chemistry as well, and I can't wait to see how their relationship evolves. I am hoping that they will become better friends. I wouldn't miss an episode for any reason. I am obsessed, and I'm perfectly alright with that.

Normally, I just scoff at shows of this nature, but I happened to watch the pilot episode while working on a project because the TV was already on the WB channel from the previous show. Next thing you know I was wrapped up in this show, which seems to be the best of the genre. For once, this is one that doesn't borrow from 90210 or My So Called Life, yet seems to make its own direction. Sure, it is still has the cliches...28 year old, socially evolved high school students with attractive 32 year old parents, but once you get over this, the show really shines! I hope it has a future, although I doubt it will last very long since the OC is getting all of the buzz simultaneously.

Look I think that you can see a certain truth in these stories, they're about life and it's problems. No matter who you are or what you do, you always have issues. No one ever thinks about how real those TV-problems are and how many people have to deal with them daily.. It makes you realise how tough life can be but how beautiful at once. Plus, the acting is great, they pull it off to seem very realistic and I think that the role becomes a part of them.. Basically it's about a couple of guy's trying to get and maintain a girl and who want to be the best in what they do.. On the other side it's known that girls are more sensitive and they really try to accentuate that here. No one knows the world and it's people better then producers directors and scriptwriters because that's where they get there inspiration from, from real-life day-to-day things that everybody knows and understands so good. And finally we have found someone who knows an understands us. And even if this character is fictional it's still based on something real and alive..

I also think that Chad Michael Murray is HOT but yeah that's my opinion.. I also loved him in the "Gilmore Girls" and in "House off Wax..

When the show was first going to air, four years ago, I wasn't too excited about it. I started watching the show and completely fell in love with the characters ans the actors themselves. They storyline is great, they deal with real issues and have very lovable people. I have seen every episode now and love them all, though for a short time in the second season I thought it got a little dull with the Felix/Anna characters. The show has been compared to the o.c. but I think that it is different just by one major detail, the setting. They are in a relatively small town with not too many money issues and not too many problems with people being fake and using each other too be famous. It's truly about their relationships as people whether it's a boyfriend/girlfriend, father/son, friend/friend relationship, it shows how they all interact and feel. There have been many comments about the fact that they are sort-of stereotyped characters, but I feel they did that on purpose, that as time went on, they showed that there is more to them, more to anyone, than just what your first impression is. It's showing that people all act and react certain and very different ways to the many situations they are faced with on the show. Ever since (and including) the episode dealing with a school shooting mid-third season, they show that everyone is unifying and that they all are becoming closer. I can't wait to see the fifth season, which will be set four years after high-school when you will see them with careers and families!

I'm a big fan of the O.C and never for a second believed that One tree hill could be as good as it. But I was wrong. One tree hill is better than the O.C. At least in my opinion. Sure, O.C is a good teen show with the usual "teen drama" problems and also with a lot of humor. But what is it the that makes One tree hill better? I think that One tree hill basically has a better story to tell than the one in O.C. Although One tree hill may lack some of the humor that's in the O.C, it's a much more interesting show to watch. The characters are so much more intriguing and has much more depth than the characters in O.C. And then One tree hill doesn't have this obsession with DRAMA... The events unfold in a realistic way and the show just have a slower pace. Although I may add that I've just seen about half of the first season... So I might be taking all of this back in a while... But for now I'll just say that I love this show and everyone ought to give it a chance.

One Tree Hill came on about the same time as The O.C came on, but the two shows couldn't be more different, and besides the fact that O.C attracts a larger audience, One Tree Hill is the better show. First of all, it has better actors. All the young leads are confident and convincing in their roles, and there is seldom a "false" moment on the show (as compared to The O.C, whose cast includes both the horrible mumblings of Mischa Barton and the horrible wooden acting of Benjamin McKenzie). The cast of One Tree Hill is of course helped immensely by the fact that their characters are so well written; they are people the audience really cares for, and takes an active interest in (as demonstrated on the multiple fan sites and message boards dedicated to the "Naley"-relationship and the "Lucas-Peyton-Brooke"-triangle.

One Tree Hill also has excellent writers, who are not afraid to deal with heavy topics like teen pregnancy, date rape, drug abuse and school shootings. The dialogue has a true ring to it, and the story lines are believable and engaging. It is hard not to get caught up in the lives of the Tree Hill teens.

Lastly, and most importantly, One Tree Hill has heart. A lot of it. Love and friendship are the main themes of the show, and the writers, directors and cast have a way of making themes old as time feel new, fresh and interesting.

Rumour has it that the WB won't renew the show for a fourth season. Hopefully, this is not true. One Tree Hill has so much potential, so much talent, heart and soul, and it would be a true shame if the WB decided not to renew it.

When I first caught a glimpse of this show, I didn't think much of it - because I didn't expect to. I just figured it was another O.C.-esquire show. That was before I really got to know it and figured that there was more to the heart of this show than showing the high-life of being an American teenager and living the dream. It's about love - love of basketball, love of families, love of friends, love of lovers, love of life.

It's all focused on the once-hatred-now-respect situation between Lucas and Nathan Scott, two brothers who never grew up together and who had just two things in common, which was the same dad and a shared love for basketball. It's clear they were both born for the game and have equal potential. For most of the first season, however, the plot centres on Nathan's determination to hold onto his spot as Tree Hill Ravens basketball star by doing everything he can to keep Lucas off the team. Their history doesn't bode well and the whole town is aware of the situation - Lucas is three months older, having been born to Karen, the woman who Dan Scott loved first and left to marry Deb who is Nathan's mother. The tension between the families plays out until this day and perhaps may never be resolved. The Scott family trauma makes for some fantastic viewing and no matter what, Dan always seems to come out of it looking like the bad guy.

Romances rarely go smoothly in Tree Hill and for the most part, unless you're a lover of the Naley romance, you end at least one season disappointed that the romance you were rooting for ended badly. Peyton, who was at first Nathan's girl and the object of Lucas' affection, quickly became part of a love triangle when she got in the way of the budding romance between Lucas and her best friend Brooke. Many fans argue that Peyton and Lucas (Leyton) shared 'the spark' first, whereas others remain firm that Brooke was Lucas' (Brucas)destiny. I, for one, admit to being a firm Brucas shipper, not Leyton. Brucas, particularly by the season two finale, rang truer as defining the concept of 'true love' as Lucas fought hard to be with Brooke, who had always been insecure about their relationship after their split over Peyton first time round. She let her guard down and consequently got her heart broken. The Peyton-Lucas-Brooke triangle seems destined to go on until the show's end, but in our heart of hearts we all know who he'll end up with (like Dawson Creek's finale, however, we'll all have different theories of who that person should be). Naley comprises Nathan and Haley, the least complicated of all the show's romances (if you don't add the troubles of season 2 into the mix). Tutor girl fell for hotshot school hunk, he was scared to admit he had for her in front of his friends. By the end of season 1 they had (shock horror) married at 16 and this sparked off troubles as Haley's love for singing convinced her to go on tour and make it big, leaving Nathan behind. Like all examples of redefining true love, she returned, they found love once more, and all was well (pretty much). 88% of fans want Haley to go on forever. I'm guessing that as long as the show lasts, Naley will too, no matter how unbelievable it sometimes seems.

In a summary, romances play a big part in the show. But each character has something unique. Lucas = narrator of the show/central love of the female lives, Nathan = talented player/caring husband, Brooke = fashion lover/independence seeker, Haley = educated student tutor/Lucas' soulmate, Peyton = lonely artist/reserved love for Lucas and ex Jake. Questions still remain on fans' lips - will Nathan carry on basketball now that he is building a life with Haley? Will Dan and Karen ever get back together? Can Peyton and Brooke ever go back to being true best friends? Will Jake return? Will Keith's murder be overlooked? Will Mouth find the love of his life? Has Lucas got it in him to decide which girl is for him once and for all? As long as One Tree Hill stands, these questions will continue in their own right.

A truly spectacular and inspiring show, in which Lucas gives a moral or words of wisdom in every episode

I didn't actually watch this when it first came out, i only started watching it about 6 weeks ago when I bought season one at a video store. All i can say is, this show is awesome. I have not been able to turn the DVD off, I am now finished with seasons 1-4 in less than 2 months.

I love everything about this show, the plot lines, the characters, the conflict. Its all freaking great. i have grown to know all the characters and respect them in their own way. Lucas, Nathan, Haley, Peyton, Brooke, Karen, whitey, Kieth, mouth, rachel, bevin skills, deb, and Dan i suppose are all cool in their own way.

I think that i will probably start watching them all again.

"Stepping up. It's a simple concept. It basically means to rise above yourself; to do a little more, to show you something special. Something like this...."

This show definitely 'step-up' the game for future 'teen-shows' in my honest opinion. There are real characters, who have real problems; not the weekly obstacle of 'Romantic pursuit'.

I was hanging around the house, during the summer of 08, when I caught the re-run of the pilot and was captivated by the 'Scott Brothers'. Since then I have been hooked, I feel ashamed to say I ignored it, and bad-mouthed it to so many people, mainly because I was more interested with the residents of Newport...

But when you watch Tree Hill, you find a group of characters who could truly be one of your friends, or even you..The scripts are just...A+ grade material, and the writers should be congratulated; as well the incorporation of Basketball was brilliantly done... The dialogue is witty and I love the 'Voice-Overs'....

The acting is a little weak from certain actors (Not gonna name them, because I love 'em all) But, it works.

I especially found myself falling for Peyton, a beautiful girl who is all alone...A familiar theme, when you're a teenager. I found the Lucas character especially interesting, he has a girlfriend, but the temptation to be with Peyton proves too much...LOL...Brilliant.

Haley James is just lovable as the dorky girl, while Nathan Scott battles to be a good man. Brooke goes from the stereotypical, high-school cheerleader to a responsible young woman. And Skills and Mouth provide the much needed comedy, the supporting cast is amazing, providing the stability.

But the real gem is Dan Scott...He is pure evil, but when he is nice...It's almost too good to be true..LOL.

I especially loved the five year skip into the future...But this show is supposed to be realistic...Surely we don't get everything we want by 22?

I could go on and on..But I'll stop. I will leave by saying, this is the pinnacle of 'Teen-Shows'....

I have to say, from the first episode I watched I fell in love with this show. You feel so happy at one moment and then you cry on another. This show has things that every teenager can relate to. People think it's stupid because of the whole basketball-cheerleader thing, but I think one reason the show is good is because of that. People can relate to this show because these people don't have a ton of money and live in mansions like on The O.C. I really recommend you watch this show because it has one of the best plots for a show that you could ever have and I believe it really has meaning. I really hope they keep making more seasons. Watch this show. If you think it looks stupid give it a chance and you will see that this has to be the one of the best shows ever made. Not to mention, this show has the best quotes a show could have too. =]

    *One SPOILERS Hill*

On the surface, Nathan (James Lafferty) and Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) Scott have very few things in common, except for being guys, living in the same town, going to the same High School and loving to play basketball.

Oh, and a father, Dan (Paul Johansson) who has got his high school sweetheart Karen (Moira Kelly) pregnant, then dropped her to go to college on a basketball scholarship, where he did the same trick to girlfriend Deb (Barbara Alyn Woods), left basketball and married her.

But their worlds begin to come together when Keith (Craig Sheffer), Dan's older brother and Lucas' de-facto father, decides to arrange for the boy to have a tryout to get into Tree Hill High's Basketball team, the Ravens, with the help of Coach Whitey (Barry Corbin), and when Nathan, to seek help for his failing grades, is aided by none other than Haley James (Bethany Joy Lenz), Lucas' best friend.

Lucas befriends Nathan's girlfriend, the complex and moody Peyton Sawyer (Hilary Burton), and feels some attraction for Peyton's best friend and co-cheerleader Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush)...

Curiously, this series premiered a little less than a month after 'OC', and had a ho-hum first season, as it decided to be more classical than the FOX series, but while 'OC' seems to be out on a limb most of the time, with one ludicrous plot twist after another, not to mention Julie Cooper (Melinda Clarke)'s tying all the families on that show into one, 'One Tree Hill' manages to stay on the road it took, even if it too has had some ludicrous plot twists (Nathan and Haley getting married at 16 is a pretty good example).

The actors are all pretty good, and I'd like to see more of them around (just pick a good movie, OK Sophia Bush? 'Stay Alive' was deeply flawed and 'The Hitcher' remake should never have been).

    One Tree Hill: 7,5/10

I don't normally watch many American TV shows but I love this show quite a lot. I'm a big fan of One Tree Hill and I think it's a brilliant show. I've been watching OTH over in the UK every Saturday on channel 4's T4 slot. It took a while to grow on me but now I love it. This show deals with all kinds of issues and it has real drama that really appeals to anyone. I really like Brooke she's really really grown on me at first I thought she was really annoying and I didn't like her but now she's great we've got to see a warm and caring side to her it was when Lucas was in hospital after the car crash and we really got to see the real Brooke. She's since found out about Lucas and Peyton seeing each other behind her back and now she's really hurt and feels betrayed by them. She may have her moments when she says stupid things at the wrong time but Brooke is a fun wild and fantastic friend who we all wouldn't mind having around. The entire cast are all brilliant in their roles Craig Sheffer, Moira Kelly, Chad Murray Michael, Sophia Bush, and co are outstanding. One of the best teen American shows I've seen in a while since The OC. I love this show and I'm really pleased to see that OTH is in its second season already and I think that's great. I hope many more keep coming to our screens to keep us fans coming back for more.

One Tree Hill is a good show.......... and what we must not fail to remember is it is just that - a show! When watching a show like this (whether it's the OC, Smallville or Gilmore Girls etc) it is important not to become too bogged down with notions of realism and how old the actors are - of course it isn't real, it's TV.... as in made up! TV is a way to extract yourself from your life for an hour or so, kick back and watch someone else's sufferings, stresses or joy rather than feel your own. One Tree Hill has all these things and more. It deals with everyday issues such as drugs, drink, sex, love, marriage, parenthood (teenage, adoption, single parenthood - it's got it all covered) and less frequent issues, such as shootings. The fact is, that all these things (with the possible exception of shootings) happen everyday - I have encountered all these things during my time as a teenager. However, not all these things have been a particular problem for me, with some of them I have just watched them happen and I have of course not faced them once a week, on Thursdays at nine on E4. With One Tree Hill, the writers have to make sure all the serious everyday issues are covered between six people, and it has to be done once a week for an hour - of course these people's lives are going to be over the top, dramatic and slightly unreal. However, I think the most important thing to remember is that the issues are real. For me, One Tree Hill works because the writers do ensure that the more serious issues are interspersed with less serious ones....... during the Lucas and Brooke storyline following Chris, Brooke's more dramatic scenes were spread out with the 'Clothes over Bros' storyline. And although Dan potentially winning Mayor was a bad thing, the 'War of the Roses' (Michael Douglas) scenario that took part between Deb and Dan was simply hilarious.

For me, One Tree Hill is an opportunity to kick back and see how other teenagers live their lives, facing things that I have come across (and okay, their played by highly mature twentysomethings but come on..... would you rather watch Daniel Radcliffe on your screens for an hour). The show is funny, sad, serious and light and this is what I want to get out of a show. And the actors aren't bad to look at either! So come on...... kick back, don't be too critical and try to enjoy an hour once a week of a TV programme which is very good. If you do that and you still don't like it then fine, everyone's tastes are different. Just don't go into it expecting something like 'A Beautiful Mind' or 'Brokeback Mountain' (it is WB's after all...!), or you will be disappointed! I think One Tree Hill is great, and as said above 'It's only TV (as in made up), but I like it'

This show started out really well, and got better with each season. It was one of my favorite shows. Until season 8. From season 8 and on, I've been embarrassed to admit that I still watch this show.

The characters Chase, Quinn, Clay and Alice are pointless. I have no interest in any of their stories. I miss the core OTH group and the relationships between them. That group of friends gave the show its heart and soul. There are so many new characters on this show that it lost its intimacy and charming nature. The show now seems shallow and dull.

Also, to the writers - please stop using the phrases "you know that" and "you goof," as in "I love you, you know that" and boyfriends/girlfriends referring to each other as "you goof". It's no longer cute, and it is bordering somewhere between extremely annoying and downright obnoxious. I cringe every single time I hear these phrases.

I gave this show a 7, which would have been a 10 if it had ended with season 7... and would have been a 2 if it had started with season 8.

UPDATE: Season 9 makes up for the crappiness of season 8. Stick it out. You wont regret it. I'm raising my rating to an 8.

I guess all of you heard about this great show called "One Tree Hill". If you asked my opinion IT'S THE BEST !!!!!!! But those of you that hate this show, i tell you Don't have a taste !

The characters in this show are very real, they do a great job in acting their roles. Like Lucas is the nice caring guy, Nathan the spoilt rich guy, Peyton the lonely pretty girl and Brooke the cheerful, cute, popular girl! But the adult actors are very good too.

In fact, I have to admit that I didn't watch this TV show first when it was airing its first episode. I didn't either watch the following few episodes, but by the fifth or sixth episode, I decided to give it a try. And I am happy I did. The relationship between the half brothers Lucas and Nathan is just too true, truths worthy and beautifully characterized.

The other characters aren't stupid, either. Haley James, who acts Lucas's best friend, will fall in love in Nathan, and it will make her friendship to Lucas more difficult. Peyton and Brooke who are best friends will turn to be enemies, after having dated Lucas at the same time.

And the parent-child relations in this TV show is just too real. Mostly, this is a TV show full of problem-making and troubling teenagers, who by the first sight seem to be perfect.

Normally, American TV shows are just too "American", all simply. This TV show is also too American, with its basketball culture and its American culture by drinking, partying and drugs, but it is also a TV show that everybody can be identifying to, even though it doesn't happen themselves. This may be a overreacting TV show but is very good at telling how things can go awry and that it is not always easy to be a teenager or to be a parent of a teenager. I don't want to say this is a very good TV show, the best in its kind, but it is good anyways, but not enough good to be rated among the best family television shows as it seems more likely to be a teen show.

I remember watching the first two seasons of this show. It was amazingly dramatic and addictive, 10/10 all the way. The next two seasons, however, I slowly began to back away from my weekly One Tree Hill. The show very simply got to be stupid. It was not only predictable and cheesy, but the clever quotes and chemistry between the characters seemed to disappear.

This was heart breaking to me! My show with deep meaning, great acting, and impeccable relevance to teenage drama was no longer there. Then, by chance, I flipped on the premiere of the fifth season, a fast forward of 4 years since the previous episode. It was AMAZING! This new season of OTH is better than the first two seasons. Maybe its so wonderful because it shows more adult situations as I have aged into adulthood, or maybe because the same witty humor and drama is back. Whatever it is, the new OTH has got it!

Well i have started to watch one tree hill and i have to say that it is incredible! the actors(chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Hilarie Burton, Bethany joy Lenz, Sophia bush) are extraordinary! In the show two brothers from different worlds have to learn how to play as a team when Lucas Scott(chad Michael Murray) joins the ravens basketball team where his half brother Nathan Scott(James Lafferty) plays on. Lucas and James were never close and despised each other since Lucas's father, Dan Scott, abandoned him to be with his other son Nathan. Lucas who lives with his mom, Karen, is poor and the only person that is similar to him as a father is Keith Scott(Dans brother. The only things that Nathan and Lucas have in common is that they both love basketball, they are from the same father, and they both love/like Peyton(Hilarie Burton)(Nathans girlfriend). Nathan and Peyton don't share a close relationship, the only thing they usually do is fight and make-out. Once Peyton sees how Nathan treats Lucas once he joins the Ravens basketball team, she breaks up with him. Peyton and Lucas then kiss when Brooke(Sophia bush), Peyton's best friend) dares her to kiss Lucas....soon after Lucas and Peyton find a room and plan to have sex until Lucas gets into a deep conversation on how he doesn't only want to sleep with her but to be with her. Peyton then bails and feels bad for what she has done. A couple days later she goes to tell Lucas how she feels when she finds out that Lucas is dating Brooke. Peyton talks to Haley(Bethany joy lenz) who is Lucas's best friend and Nathans new girlfriend, on what she should do. Peyton gets confused on her advice...? Peyton finds out that her father may be dead and when she and Lucas go to see if he really is dead. Peyton kisses Lucas, knowing that he is dating her best friend Brooke, soon afterward Peyton tells Lucas to just forget about. The next day both of them are unable to hid their feelings for one another and Lucas starts cheating on Brooke. In the end Peyton breaks it off with Lucas and Brooke then finds out about the whole thing. Lucas decides to leave tree hill with his uncle Keith, and thats how the first season ends........

In the second season Lucas comes back to tree hill and tries to get back together with Brooke, even though Brooke starts to date someone named Felix. Nathan and Haley get married! Peyton starts to date a boy names Jake, who has a daughter called jenny. During this season Peyton takes drugs after Jake leaves to go find jenny since jenny's mother takes her away. Haley leaves to become a singer, and puts her marriage at risk, when she leaves with a singer called Chris Keller(Tyler Hilton). Lucas tells Brooke his true feelings for her and brings Jake back to help Peyton out, not knowing that Peyton is taking drugs. Jake leaves again and Brooke leaves for the summer. In the end of the season Lucas and Peyton are ending up spending the summer together.....

In the third season, Lucas and Brooke get back together, while Nathan and Haley resolve their marriage issue. Peyton finds out that she was adopted and her birth mom has cancer(Peyton's adopted mom, died in a car crash). Peyton and her birth mom , Ellie, form and CD for breast cancer, Ellie the dies. To make matters even worse there is a school shooting and Peyton gets shot. Brooke not knowing wear Peyton is tells Lucas that Peyton is in the school and might be shot. Lucas runs in and when Nathan finds out that Haley is also still inside, runs in. Lucas finds Peyton shot in the library, Peyton kisses Lucas thinking that she might die while Nathan finds Haley and a couple other students held as hostages in the tutor room. Lucas carries Peyton out of the library only to find out that the shooter is pointing a gun at him. Keith(Lucas's uncle) convinces the shooter to let Peyton and Lucas go because if he doesn't Peyton will die. Lucas and Peyton leave while Keith and the shooter talk, the shooter than commits suicide and Dan(Keith's brother) shoots Keith. In the season finale Peyton tells Brooke that she has feelings for Lucas again and Lucas's mom Karen, is pregnant with Keith's child. Also in the ending there is a question whether who is pregnant Brooke or Haley?

In season four we find out that Haley is pregnant and that Peyton has a brother. Brooke breaks up with Lucas, and doesn't tell him the 2 reasons(1. she no longer wants to be with him and 2. he kissed Peyton in the library )Peytons meets her brother, Derek, and finds out that that the man that claims to be Derek is a psycho and stalker. Lucas and her real brother DEREK save Peyton from the stalker and Peyton spends time with her real brother. her real brother, DEREK, leaves to Iraq and Peyton finally tells Lucas the ways she feels about him. Lucas and Peyton get together. Meanwhile: Nathan gets in trouble with some loan sharks and has to pay the price....Haley hurt by the loan sharks. Haley, Nathan, and the baby are find but Nathan and Haley's relationship is again at risk. At the end of the season Nathan and Haley are still together and have a baby son named, James Lucas Scott, Brooke meets a boy named chase and starts to date him, and Peyton and Lucas are together. Nathan, Haley, Peyton, Lucas, Brooke, and their other friends promise to each other that in four years that they will be back at tree hill and will always be friends.......
