I encountered 'Stay' on KTN one night in a hotel in coastal Kenya and found it very engaging, pursuing the other episodes shortly afterwards. It's a bright sitcom following the relationship between an American man and a Kenyan woman in Nairobi. The show is consistently humorous, with likable characters and a feel-good ambiance throughout. Jason Corder and Mkamzee Chao Mwatela both suit their leading roles perfectly, and a well balanced ensemble cast of both American and Kenyan actors support them. The writing and direction is, again, a collaboration between expatriates (including Corder) and Kenyans, and is well done from start to finish.

That being said, the show does address issues such as cultural relationships regarding interracial couples (and a less-then-thrilled future mother-in-laws opinion of them) and the dynamic between American expatriates and Kenyans in the nation's capital. It should also be commended for an accurate and well-shot (one of the first Kenyan shows to be shot on a RED camera in 4k, looking slick and professional throughout) portrayal of Nairobi today: not stricken with poverty and violence, but a culturally diverse, bright and thriving hub of entrepreneurship and opportunity.
