Carlton has been letting people into the building somewhat indiscriminately. This leads to a fight between two suitors for Brenda's affections. But worse, it leads to Rhoda and Joe's apartment being robbed. Carlton believed the three men's story that they were from Goodwill making a scheduled pickup. Beyond the less than satisfactory encounter she and Joe have with the investigating police detectives, Rhoda, in a fit of anger, states that this situation was the last straw in terms of screw ups by Carlton, she who plans to tell anyone of authority associated with the building about Carlton's actions.
