    I only watched episode one.

I expected to see a comedy, with a little real life tossed in.

What I saw instead, was the the raunchy thing they made. They have ruined the title ; That title could have been used for an excellent television show that could have ran as long as Seinfeld.

These very bad writers made use of every black joke, polish joke, gay joke, bad decision ; JUST EVERY Cliché IN THE BOOK, (And they did all that in just the first episode.).

WOW, Was it AWE-FULL ; What a waste of film. What a waste of a great name for a television show, also.

I got very angry when I saw a television commercial calling this a run away hit ; So I took the trouble to go and find the top place I could find to criticize it ; That place would be I.M.D.B..

I can't believe teachers are posting their disdain for this show because it makes fun and degrades the teachers profession. I was shocked that they don't mention the total corruption of the children being used in this show of filth disguised as humor. This show reveals exactly what the world of TV has done to our societies moral base. If any parent acted, spoke or did the things in the show at their home Children Services would remove the children, and there are those who posted this as 'funny'. EVERYTHING was based on the demoralization of society, abusive power, disrespect for authority on both the side of the student and the school system. How anyone thinks this show making light of first graders threatening their teachers is a good thing for the child or society is beyond reprehensible. SHAME on TV land, they should be charge with corruption of minors for what they are doing to the minor actors and to the minors who view this filth.

A walking insult to teachers, schools, students, parents and viewers of the show. Anyone really. It's beyond bad.

Obviously written, directed and produced by people who have not been in a classroom since their own childhood and have a more than juvenile sense of humor to say the least. A bit like if a bunch of 13 year old on the verge of drop out wrote this show while high on something.

This feels like a long bad painful sketch hat no one knows how to end.

And I feel really mad at the missed opportunity to do something really interesting and intelligently funny about teachers: after all there are so many shows about law enforcement, doctors and so on that it would be exciting to have the equivalent for teachers. It feels as if these particular profession is treated with ridicule and disrespect instead of the real interest it deserves. After all, it's only one of the most important profession in anyone's life, we all entrust our kids to teachers, they shape the mind of all of us. Why indeed take the time to really research what is going on in schools, with the immense reservoir of real funny anecdotes that any teacher knows and experiences? It's so much more fun to have a set of tired old jokes to offer.

Please... put this show out of its misery.

A show with the main cast almost completely women, working in a traditionally female career - and behaving like stereotypical women. I admit that I laughed once, but mostly I was disgusted. It's ironic that gender equality ideals like co-ed bathrooms are referenced, because this show is working to propagate traditional gender roles. If this kind of thing isn't a big deal to you, you might find this show mildly amusing, but I can't see past the in-your-face cultural undertones. In other words, this show is politically charged - if you are pretty conservative, you may like it, but if you are liberal, you will probably hate it.

I have never watched something so awful in my life. Nowhere near funny. I would definitely not under any circumstances recommend. Absolutely terrible, if I could give it 0 stars I would. The jokes are not funny, they are weak (at best) and just pathetic. The storyline is not as bad as the jokes but still awful. I hope they don't subject us to another season of this.

Just looking at the commercials I knew that this was not a show I would never want to watch. There is no substance and I hate to see what the kids that are on this show is being subjected to. I would never want to see my grandkids to even see the commercials. I just don't understand why TV land decided to put this show on the air. I would rather see uplifting shows like some of the older sit-coms that are being shown and maybe add some other older shows like home improvement, or even older shows like All In the Family, Sandford and Son or The Jeffersons. I always thought of TV land as a station that shows retro TV not what shows that are coming out now.

This show is awful. Absolutely awful. Apparently the writers of this show have not been in a classroom or school in a very long time. There is nothing funny about this show at all, rather I find it highly inappropriate. I've never encountered teachers who talk to students in such a manner. Or talk about topics like that around students all of the time. I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't say exactly what they've said, but there is not a single teacher I've worked with that would discuss anything like that in front of students in their own class. Also, lets talk about the way these women dress. Again have they been to a school recently?! Most teachers don't dress like that at all. I would say most teachers aren't that dressed up most of the time, or ever. This is just an awful representation of the school system and teachers in general. Even if this was meant to be a spoof comedy, it is horrible and not at all funny. Horrible. Don't waste your time, unless you need a good drinking game.

My husband and I totally lost interest after about 10 minutes. 15 minutes tops. We didn't finish watching the pilot episode. My husband said it would be better if they just acted crazy away from the kids and acted like they actually liked kids. We found it ridiculous! We will be very surprised if it lasts more than 1 season (if that long). We especially found the bullying part in the pilot episode with the kids yelling S.T.A.B very inappropriate. It was meant to be funny but no. The teacher idea of it was good since there is not a teacher show but that's about it. I am not a teacher but have a lot of respect for them. I know that shows that portray cops, firemen etc. are not totally accurate but the way teachers are portrayed in this show is not comical and just way off. I'm sure teachers discuss personal things in the teacher's lounge but talking about their personal life in front of their young students is just not funny. They should keep the craziness among the teachers. That would improve the show a little bit. I love the TV Land channel. I hope the network drops this show and gets another one with better writers and better acting.

1 out of 10...being the number of times I laughed watching the first episode.

reviewer 'jenniferlb' is obviously connected with the show giving it 10/10 and comments like 'characters are immersed in their own flaws, yet somehow remain oblivious to them' and 'each character has a way of making you feel like you know them, yet they still surprise you'

    give me a break.

how about more like: this is supposed to be a comedy YET it is completely unfunny, or there are 6 teachers in the cast YET none of them are male?, or these characters are supposed to be teachers YET don't care at all for their kids.

    to sum up:

    poor casting

    poor writing

    poor execution of 'jokes'

the kids are actually the best characters, and they weren't even trying to be.

This TV series is the most low class treatment of the teaching profession that has ever been made. From Room 222, and Welcome Back Kotter, there have been many good shows over the years that focused on a classroom setting, and the interaction of teachers and their students. However, all of those shows were positive and uplifting. "Teachers" is just trashy and vile.

Teachers is the most exploitative and degrading show about schools, teaching, and students that has ever been made. Most of the jokes and situations are ripped off from old comedy skit shows and extensively from Saturday Night Live. The rest are just gross and disgusting stuff that never would have made it into any network production.

In this show, the students are young kids, elementary school age. The offensive and degrading humor of this show is not appropriate for young children.

This is a very funny show. You may know that One Million Moms has set an agenda against this show which is why you see all the one star reviews.

I am a teacher and I think this show is hysterical. Is it realistic, no. Does it offend me? No. I am smart enough to realize that this is a comedy, a farce Every character is an exaggeration and the actors do a great job.

Worst piece of crap on TV today since The Exes & Impastor. The worst thing is they involve innocent children. Shame on TV Land & the parents that allow them to appear on it. It should have been made for a different cable channel rather than TV Land. I know everyone will say "if you don't like it, then change the channel". Of course I do. Most people that have always watched TV Land is for comfort shows like Everybody Loves Raymond, King o Queens etc. This is my favorite channel to relax to and take my mind away from today's world problems. Bring back Home improvement, The Nanny and all the other funny little shows please. Although I do enjoy Younger, but it doesn't involve small children and the writing is much better.

I watched the first 2 episodes and I am done. I cannot take anymore. This show is not funny at all. As a Mom, I wanted to jump through the TV and smack these "teachers." Yes, I know, it's just a TV show...but it shouldn't be. After watching Younger, this completely kills my vibe. What a waste of time. I feel like TV land is trying too hard by putting this show on the air. It's like watching a bunch of desperate women having a midlife crisis literally in front of their students. If this was real life, these women would be locked in rooms with padded walls. Someone was clearly intoxicated when they gave the greenlight for this hideous show!!!

If you watch the show as a woman's version of Workaholics with ridiculous antics in unrealistic situations, it's a good show. Maybe people were expecting a true depiction of real teacher's problems at school and social commentary, blah blah. What happened to good ole' raunchy fun? Certainly doesn't deserve anything under a 5.

I guess I have a juvenile, black sense of humor because I think this show is hilarious. I have been both a high school and middle school teacher and currently am a middle school counselor. There are some spot on moments to this show. There is some exaggeration, but anyone's day to day work life in schools would be boring without editing out the meetings, paperwork, etc. I guess I have just had the fabulous luck of working with funny, sometimes inappropriate (never in front of kids) people. I feel bad for the people who work with the boring teachers who wrote these reviews.

This show is literally one of the funniest shows on television. My wife is a teacher and Teachers basically crushes it with the personalities she works with. Can not recommend it more highly. It's a fantastic show. It really picks up in Season 2 and just kills it with every successive episode. Check it out.

This is exactly like a Saturday Night Live sketch that's gone on for way too long. The setup is funny, but they continue the same joke until the audience feels awkward.

There's an opportunity to engage with children that ignores the potential of watching a kid be a kid. They're just props for shock-value puns. Why would you enlist such a large group of adorable faces and not make them part of the cast?

The main characters are basically the same person with different moods. A standard flaw in writing that lacks the maturity to create multiple dialogs. I've seen it dozens of times; Each character is of the same mindset and their lines could easily be mistaken for one person talking to themselves. If you're going to be a writer; You should examine more of the world rather than surrounding yourself with people that all act & think the same way you do.

People hating on the show need to chill. I think it's hilarious. I can't wait for the next season. This show isn't supposed to insult teachers. Just like 'Reno 911' weren't trying to insult police officers of Reno or 'The office' weren't trying to insult workers who work in corporate or 'Modern Family' trying to insult a "traditional" family style. Get the gest of it?? SO CHILL THE F DOWN

I find this show laugh out loud funny. I don't think any real teachers take offense or that we truly believe our kids classes are run in this manner. It's just funny to laugh at for a half an hour. Every teacher was cast perfectly suited to their overall look & I think it's one of the most hilarious shows on right now.

It is a sketch comedy about Teachers dealing with real life. It is funny, edgy and has some pretty sly humor. It is not meant to be a vehicle about teaching kids, it is a takeoff. Some folks need to grow up a bit, and use some common sense. The ladies do an excellent job, and what I see here in Oak Park is very well represented in a satirical sense.

Teachers is not fit for anyone to watch. It is not funny not is it intelligent. It belittles today's teachers that work so hard in a world full of obstacles and cutbacks. It makes them look stupid and uneducated. I would hope today's teachers would not allow the kind of smart mouth talk by the students. Horrible show with nothing to recommend it.

For some reason, it appears to get a lot of abuse which outline poor writing and casting. However, I'd have to disagree. The series follows these unconventional teachers, one of which should be relatable and it's enjoyable to watch.

I don't think there's any problems with the writing as such, just the pace sometimes suffers. Each episode tries to fit too much into one episode so sometimes it does falter. With this said, it is still rather amusing and there are several laugh out loud moments in each episode.

The cast are well suited to their characters and are pleasant to see in action. I really enjoy this programme and it doesn't deserve the negative comments it gets.

Of course, it has its flaws and they are clear, but it is still enjoyable compared to quite a few modern comedies.

For a show that is focused on teachers of young children, there are some raunchy jokes and rather amusing characters with adult themes. I like it and it's worth a try.

I've seen many terrible tv shows in my life, but this is by far, the Worst! Not funny. Dumb, and so full of the most unbelievabe attempts to be humorous without coming close! They should atleast give them scripts that would allow them to act human. No one,(not even toddlers) has a lower level of immaturity as these adults play on this show. And the kids on the show must surely need therapy after each season with the ignorant attempt at satire on this show. Every teacher should be offended to say the least. Need to be cancelled and the producers should issue an apology immediately.
