» » Mickey Mouse Roughin' It (2013– )

Short summary

The guys head out together on a camping trip. However, Donald and Goofy's idea of roughing it is very different than Mickey's.

Donald calls Mickey a hippie. This is oddly appropriate as Mickey was briefly a symbol of the American counterculture of the sixties.

Goofy is wearing a coonskin cap, like Davy Crockett. The popularity of the Disney serial about Crockett created a craze for caps like his.

    Episode 48: Roughin' It

Mickey, Donald and Goofy are going on a camping trip but once in the woods they realize that their definition of camping is different. To Mickey camping is just a tent and a small fire. The other two get a kick out of a RV and the latest technology.

This is a fun episode for the series that once again has some great animation and a good enough of a story. At just under four minutes there's really not too much time for an actual story so instead we're just given a bunch of short scenes that get plenty of laughs. The highlight of the film is probably when poor Mickey has a run in with a group of bears who were attracted by the smell of Donald's trash. If you're a fan of camping you'll get a nice kick out of the old school vs. new school attitudes.
