Trailers "Phantasm: Ravager (2016)"
According to the book "Phantasm Exhumed," filming on Phantasm: Ravager first began in late 2008 where it was originally envisioned as a spinoff webseries about the Reggie character. This webisode footage was eventually expanded upon with new footage that featured appearances by main cast members to become feature-length.
Angus Scrimm's last film.
A mock up DVD with the title Phantasm: Ravager appears next to a television in Don Coscarelli's earlier film John Dies at the End (2012).
With no prior production news, Phantasm: Ravager was announced to the world as a completed project on March 26, 2014. A teaser trailer was released the following day.
Angus Scrimm was shown Phantasm: Ravager shortly before he died.
(at around 21 mins) The hospital bed scene alongside Reggie Bannister was the last scene Angus Scrimm filmed as the character The Tall Man.
According to Don Coscarelli, Angus Scrimm and Reggie Bannister got into a heated debate over their respective characters' dialogue in the white room sequence.
The only Phantasm film not to be directed by Don Coscarelli.
The end credits montage show scenes that were cut from the final film.
(at around 20 mins) The blanket Dawn puts on Reggie in the cabin is the same one A. Michael Baldwin's character had on his bed in the original Das Böse (1979).
The first "Phantasm" film in 18 years. The last film was from 1998, Phantasm IV (1998).
The shortest of all the Phantasm films.
The only Phantasm film to have a mid-credits scene.
Reggie's occupation in the first film was as an ice cream man and, coincidentally, a real ice cream truck would often drive by the set with its music playing, forcing the production to stop and wait for it to pass.
The Plymouth Barracuda featured in this film is not the same car featured in Phantasm IV (1998). That car was a convertible whereas the one in Ravager is a hardtop, same as in the original Das Böse (1979).
(at around 19 mins) The song Reggie plays on the guitar while creating a song for Dawn is the same tune he and Jody played together in the original Das Böse (1979) during their jam session. Several years after the movie's release, actor Bill Thornbury finished the song which is titled "Sitting here at midnight".
Several ideas seen in this film were recycled from a previous unproduced script for a 5th Phantasm. These include the Tall man unleashing a disease on the population and the main characters traveling to the Tall man's home world.
(at around 30 mins) During a scene where Mike is visiting Reggie at the rest home, Reggie says the line "There's a new threat Mike. Have you seen it?" This is probably a reference to the song "Have you seen it?" performed by Reggie Bannister which plays over the Phantasm IV (1998) end credits.
