The song "Everything Stays" is shown in this episode to be not only representative of the mini-series, but in fact, it refers to the show in its entirety! It is an introspective and deep message explaining to the audience that, yes the world of Adventure Time may have short-lived changes (Finn's arm ARC, PB losing her kingdom, Marcy in this mini-series), but while "Everything Stays," the song also notes "but it still changes." This refers to the fact that, while the world may not change much, the characters themselves do because they experienced that aspect of their life. The conversation between Marceline and Vampire King in episode 7 is indicative of this theme, as well.
