In this episode we get all the antics of southern life when Willy's girlfriend, Effie May, marries another man. Now Tennessee bred Willy is down in the dumps to the point of being transferred for neglect of duty. When a new nurse, Cindy Bates, gets transferred onto the base, she has all the phony accent of a southern woman to hopefully bring around Willy. Well that is McHale's plan.

McHale wants to make Willy and Cindy feel right at home in the hills of Tennessee, so he puts a plan where all the gang and nurses will dress up like country hillbillies and sashay around making the couple feel right at home. Perhaps this can get Willy's mind off Effie May.

But McHale's plan may lead him into hot water. A congressman is coming to the base with a Navy appropriation's officer to inspect the base. The congressman arrives about the time the shindig begins.

The story was nice but to see the cast run around looking like something from a 'Bugs Bunny' cartoon just did not set well. We all know that this is a comedy sitcom that pokes fun at all things on the spectrum but at least pick a southern woman instead of someone that lampoons the sounds of a nice southern drawl. This was hard to watch more for the cast than the story.
