The positive energy surrounding this song and clip is hard (if not impossible) to defeat. Steve Winwood made some great hit in the 1980's after decades with other groups like Traffic and Blind Faith, and after the smash hit "Valerie" things were never the same. "Higher Love" is a fine extension to his quality as a singer, artist and performer who doesn't need much to accomplish what he needs to do.

Dance performance with skillful dancers in great choreographic moments along with Chaka Khan, Mr. Winwood delivers a fine performance while singing and dancing to his excellent tune and song (pity that the clip was edited version of the full song). While he sings about bringing a higher love to him, the whole video feels like a clamor to this energy so it can be brought to him, he feels it and that feeling is nicely transported to us. High energy, high spirits and love are the heart and brain of the matter in this fine music video, gathering the perfect essence of what some clips need and needed to be: a way to sell the song without using of excessive effort or money to present a final good product. The song itself is the spectacle. 8/10
