I am going back now to the tender age of 16 when I saw this episode. Strangely compelling even in my teens. What intrigued me most was the incredible violin music - what is it? I have spent the past 50 years searching for this amongst serious composers and TV/film music people and have found similar "spine chillingly beautiful" pieces of violin (or perhaps viola?) but not this one. Help me, please, anyone who has knowledge of this incredibly haunting (and short) piece of perfection.

God! I remember being allowed to stay up late and watch this episode and it gave me the scariest nightmares for months afterwards. I have never forgotten it, although I cant for the life of me remember anything about it other than involved a phantom violin player and was so eery. I remember it even scared my dear parents, so it must have had an impact on other TV viewers of the time. I wonder if these episodes are on video as I think I ought to face my past nigtmares and watch them. I also remember seeing the end of another episode which had some lady listening to her husband in a study and getting herself locked in a safe! That freaked me out as well!
