a beautiful film. first - for inspired music. than - for the script . not the last - good acting. a war film who becomes puzzle of destinies in the script by Marin Preda and , in few parts is only promise as result of political pressure. but good and almost remarkable for its period. the basic virtue is science to use the simplicity in powerful images. to give realistic image of a dramatic event not only as show but as result of many deep, powerful roots. an impressive film for many Romanians. for that something out of words - its spirit, cast and mixture of nostalgic emotions. for songs and for dramatic scenes. for a kind of innocence of manner to discover the past. a film who could be a great one. but the not the best balance, the need to be piece of a moment from national history event celebration does it only beautiful.

at first sigh, an experiment. because , in the first part, has the ambition to propose a different story about war, not original but useful for escape from the recipes of propaganda. in the second part ,the desire becomes good intention. the music, the acting maintain the aura of poetry of sacrifice and duty and discover the other and equality front to the death. but each is only fragment used on the wall of others well known solutions. the best detail, who saves the story and impose it as seductive memory for Romanian public - the collaboration between Marin Preda and Mircea Muresan. sure, it is a touching, beautiful story with a great potential. the exploration of essence of facts, emotions and gestures is ignored. but the viewer, the viewer from that period, reads suggestions and tricks and flavor of a state of fact. for the others, the music and the acting are enough.
