Short summary

Based on the books by Joy Hakim, this star-studded 16-part miniseries gives an account of the history of the United States, from colonial times to the present, as its people struggled valiantly against inequality and injustice on an endless quest for freedom.

The series cast includes an astounding twenty Oscar winners: Tom Hanks, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, Kevin Kline, Sir Michael Caine, Meryl Streep, Robin Williams, Julia Roberts, Matthew McConaughey, Jeremy Irons, Whoopi Goldberg, Brad Pitt, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Michael Douglas, Reese Witherspoon, and Sir Sean Connery; and eight Oscar nominees: Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, Samuel L. Jackson, John Lithgow, Graham Greene, Angela Bassett, Glenn Close, and Jane Alexander.

    A show with good characters...

    Michael Douglas is the lead actor to me that is due to him being a good actor all around and all.

    Freedom: A History of Us:

    This series shows different viewpoints over the facts of what life was and is during this documentary. All else this was a pretty good documentary.
