Trailers "Destination Wedding (2018)"

It was filmed in ten days.

This is the fourth film featuring Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves, after Bram Stokeri Dracula (1992), Läbi hägu (2006) and The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009). In Dracula and A Scanner Darkly they also played a couple, but they didn't have any scenes together in The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.

While promoting this film, Winona Ryder claimed that her and Keanu Reeves might actually have been married to each other in real life when they filmed the marriage scene in Bram Stokeri Dracula (1992), because a real Romanian Orthodox priest was used. Francis Ford Coppola, who directed that film, agreed that this could be true.

In real life, Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves have been friends since the 1980s.

Winona Ryder (Lindsay) and Keanu Reeves (Frank) hold the only on-screen speaking roles in the movie. Movies playing on the TV in their rooms and announcements made over PA systems are the only other voices heard.

The film wasn't announced until after it had already finished filming and entered post-production.

The movie's alternate title is A Narcissist Can't Die Because Then the Entire World Would End.

Shot almost entirely in master or 2 shots with no close up coverage.

The first movie Frank and Lindsay are watching on their separate TVs is "Scarlet Street" (1945) with Edward G. Robinson.

John Wayne Bobbitt was mentioned by Lindsay when she was teasing Frank about his wine-stained pants. Bobbitt made headlines in 1993 when his wife. Lorena, cut off his penis.

When discussing his parents at the rehearsal dinner, Franks alludes to his father's new girlfriend "being a senior while he was a freshman," which is near identical to a quote from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

In one scene, Winona Ryder's character mentions to Keanu Reeves character, Frank, "Let's play Devil's Advocate". "Devil's Advocate was the title of Keanu Reeves 1997 movie of the same name.

Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves may "think" they were married in "Bram Stoker's Dracula", but it was consummated in "Destination Wedding", 26 years later.

Although others have suggested that Keanu and Winona may have been married in a Sacramental sense because an actual Orthodox priest was used in the scene in Dracula (1992), this is not the case at all. The president (or "officiant") is merely an official witness, although to be "official" he must be an ordained member of the clergy. It is the couple that marry one another, not the officiant that "marries" them. Besides, as another entry mentions, their "marriage" was not consummated until Destination Wedding (2018), 26 years later, so if was truly a concern for them, they could have/should have had their faux marriage reviewed for annulment (for non-consummation, which automatically invalidates a "marriage") before shooting this picture.

Lindsay's address is 14 Catalina Drive, Newport Beach.

Only Keanu Reaves and Winona Ryder have speaking lines throughout the entirety of the movie

Really, really enjoyed this film. I haven't laughed so many times watching a movie in quite some time. The dialog is fantastic and comes at break neck speed expertly executed by both actors as if it were their own words they are speaking. Great seeing Keanu in a comedic role and Winona, well, just in anything. These two make a great pair. Definitely worth a watch. Charming film.

Just saw this movie with my 18 year old son. We both laughed out loud. It is a very verbose script with lots of sardonic humor and dialogue. But we really liked it. Always a fan of Rider and Reeves. They are just my generation and I have a certain affection for their movies. What was surprising is that my teenage son liked it so much. I was a little skeptical taking him to see it because I knew it had mixed reviews. In the end he said he found it entertaining. The whole movie is all about the two charters meeting each other and their interpretation of the wedding. There is no other context or character interaction, but it works. It's an amusing delightful weird unorthodox relationship movie.

This movie is painful on purpose. When you realise who and what you are dealing with, it's fun. A movie that wasn't given much chance to succeed in the theater...Keanu and Wynona are great together.

This is a really enjoyable, fast, witty movie, not just a rom-com, but a comedy about making a connection, about two people who gave up on pleasures of life, love and happiness, And yet if they crack open the window in their lives of solitude, they just might catch the wind to take them to the second chance. See the sunny side to life. Both Reeves and Ryder are great here, they have a spark that caries the movie, And some amazing comedy bones that make the scenes about awkwardness and sadness, romantic and fun. Definitely watch this, you will like it. I can't imagine any other way.

Absolutely loved the film, the satire was on point, as was everything else. The film isn't just funny or lustful, there's so many layers to it which will take you on an emotional roller coaster and will leave you relating to these characters with god awful personalities (even though you don't want to).

Watching unpleasant characters onscreen isn't always a fun thing to do, so casting Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder is very smart. They're both charismatic. In their fourth film together, are clearly having a great chemistry, and they won me over. Ryder is a gifted actress, and Reeves, manages to turn his signature woodenness into comedy. And together? It's a powerful force. This story about two narcissistic, cynical characters could quickly have become irritating, but writer-director Victor Levin takes an interesting approach to nearly every scene and his dialogue is relentless. This film isn't the romantic comedy that audiences are hoping for but it's very entertaining and is a must movie theater destination. nikisreviews.gr

    WARNING: Tl; dr.

I found "Destination Wedding" to be reminiscent of the Cary Grant / Irene Dunne movie,"The Awful Truth." In some ways, it also has elements of "The African Queen" and a bit of "Sideways" to boot.

Let's face it -- If two people were immediately smitten with one another and fell into a state of contentment and romantic bliss, that would be simply lovely for the happy couple, but it would be boring to watch. They see each other from across the room. They develop cartoon heart-eyes, They meet in the middle of the dance floor and waltz off into the sunset. The End. Good for them. Yawn.

Hostility, or at least annoyance, are much more likely to produce crackling dialogue and sparkling wit. Not to mention the fact that it is much more relatable in this era of ghosting, catfishing, and unrequested dicque pix.

Frank (Keanu) is the product of a lifetime of disappointment and has emotionally cocooned himself in an effort to prevent being further assaulted by the dysfunction of others. It's as though Charlie Brown stopped trying to kick the football because he knows that Lucy is just going to pull it out of the way and he is going to end up flat on his back with the wind knocked out of him.

Lindsay (Winona) has suffered heartbreak but still clings to the hope that maybe, there is something out there that she has not yet found, but must exist, not unlike Mendeleev's reserving a place for yet-to-be-identified elements. She feels that there are indications that true love must exist out there even though she has never personally seen it in her field studies.

Keanu & Winona are fantastic together and and they take the concept of dripping with disdain to the next level but never to the point of losing their sense of humanity and sweetness. Keanu and Winona are downright snarky, hilarious and vulnerable at the same time. Both have gotten better with age.

A truly fine chef knows that one must add a little acid and a pinch of salt in order to properly enhance the sweetness of a dish. Too much sweetness is nauseating and too much acid or salt is caustic and abrasive. Victor Levin has concocted the perfectly balanced recipe for a modern day boy-meets-girl story. Judging from how he expresses himself through this movie, he's the kind of guy you want sitting next to you at a dinner party.

If you are a fan of the dynamic between Andy and April on Parks and Recreation, I think you will enjoy Destination Wedding.

P.S. I apologize for being a gargantuan windbag.

Funny movie about two broken cynics finding each other. The dialogue is incredibly witty and believable, which is great cause it's basically two people talking the whole time. It does not drag or overstay it's welcome, a nice 90 min movie! Both Ryder and Reeves are on top form!

I found this movie randomly last night and decided to watch it today and what I found was unexpectedly a gem.. The writing is ridiculously crafty and just off the wall in your face but that's not exactly a bad thing.. it's an hour and twenty six minutes of bickering but it's hilarious and 71.638146% honest and a nice change for Reeves to do instead of constantly shooting people in the face and neck! It's an 8/10 for me and I'll start watching out for this writer/director

This is a very smart, witty and fast paced movie that considers the possibility of opening up to second chances. I can relate with both Reeves's cynicism and Ryde's negativity due to a broken heart. It is not a surprise to me the low reviews this film got by the press because only someone that have been in the same place as them or have the same views in life can understand how brilliant this movie really is. An applause to the way the sad conversations and awkward moments were transformed in sarcastic and fun jokes. I find this film very similar to "Wakefield" in its essence. Definitely a must see!

The movie itself was a big pile of awkwardness ,,, the plot is simple and the scenario is a bit predictable but it has a fresh sweetness and i really love Keanu Reeves ,, and he is actually funny ,, gotta watch his appearance in the "Swedish Dicks" he was hilarious ...

The whole screenplay looked a bit like Ethan Hawke's "Before Sunrise " but funnier and has a nice closed ending.

The cast,, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder chemistry was shining in abundance it all reflected positively on the movie.

    Recommended.

Couldn't stop laughing. Intelligent writing regarding the perils of relationships. Keanu is a comedic genius. His timing was on par....so was Winona. Pleasantly surprised. Sweet ending.

This movie is an example of two people reading scripted dialogue, word for word, without any belief that either of them 1) believe what they are saying and 2) are actually coming up with the words themselves.

The characters don't even process one another's lines; it's simply machine-gun mouth-fire from one "witty" bullet of dialogue to the next.

For anyone who has already thought about the points these characters are trying to hard to convey, nothing about the dialogue is interesting.

All-in-all, a boring movie filmed in one weekend that has no overall redeeming qualities. It felt like play rehearsal.

OMG!!!! What a beautifully witty, cynical, and funny movie. Actually it was more like watching a well written play played out at a wedding. We only hear from the two characters, Frank and Lindsay, throughout the whole movie. The wedding itself is only a backdrop for these two miserable and unpleasant people who complain and criticize everything and everyone, including themselves. They meet on their separate ways to this "Destination Wedding", that lasts all weekend. From the start they instantly dislike each other but the dislike is made worse when they realize they both know the groom. Frank as the groom's brother and Lindsey as his former fiancé six years previous. They each have their reverse reasons for attending the wedding. During the whole weekend playing the so called wedding games, they are constantly thrown together. They constantly talk to each other about their feelings of life, etc.. they have no choice as they are paired together always. They eventually develop some feelings for each other in a cynical way. They have this hilarious love scene together after saving each other from a mountain lion. They talk constantly throughout this hilarious love scene. I could go on and on about this movie and how much I loved it. Needless to say Keanu and Winona are great together. They are comfortable and relaxed with each other and it shows throughout the movie. They are really having fun together making this movie. The dialogue is well written and Keanu and Winona put their all and passion into it. Keanu shows a comical that we rarely see and he is very good at it. Winona is a comedic actress that we seldom see also. I recommend this unconventional love story as that is what it is highly. There is a hope in life and a second chance at love happiness no matter how hurt emotionally and cynical we become about life. Thanks to all who made this movie. How lovely, just his lovely.

I love Keanu but he does not belong in this role. And Winona has none of the usual quirky crazy we love her for. The "movie" sounds like two actors reciting their lines in rehearsal, with no emotion. For so much dialogue, they should at least play off each other.

Being a fan of both Keanu Reeves and Wynona Ryder, this was a very easy movie to pick to watch, happily I didn't see it at the cinema though, because if I did I would have missed a lot of the good stuff. My partner and I watched it together and we had to hit pause and rewind so many times we lost count. The reason being we were laughing so hard we missed the next part and this is a movie you really have to listen to or you will miss some really funny dialogue.

Both actors delivered their lines perfectly and Keanu Reeves was quite brilliant with his deadpan delivery. The chemistry between Keanu and Wynona was plain to see from almost the first few minutes of the movie and while it might be considered a bit cliched it worked for both my partner and I.

At 86 minutes including credits it is not very long, but a lot is packed into those 86 minutes and we enjoyed every minute.

I rate movies on how much I enjoyed them and this one I easily give a 9/10. The people giving this a 1/10 really need to get a life.

This movie is absolutely terrible. It's awkward, dull, unenthusiastic and pointless. It's 1 hour and 45 minutes of these two having one monotone conversation after another in a feeble, generic and ironic attempt to be funny. If I need to get some sleep, I'll forgo the Ambien and put on this snoozer fest, and listen to Keanu and Winona read me to sleep.

Aside from the fact that I have always liked the work of Keanu Reeves, I particularly loved this movie. Wynona was superb. The very characters they played, both disappointed with life in their own cynical way, and yet open to the possibility that connecting with another human being is always better than going through life alone is what makes this movie so good.

I love this film. It just Shows that you can deliver a entertaining piece of film just with awesome writing and very well delivered dialogue. The two main characters have so much chemistry and with their pessimistic, ironic and dry view on the world it´s just pleasure to watch These character walk throught their Story. What suprised me the most is that when I watched it again that there are the only two People two have any Kind of dialogue in the movie and when I watched it the first time I didn´t notice this fact, which is just prove of just how good that writing is. Charming Film, definitely worth of your time
