Arthur Fisher, a trapper, becomes by chance, owner of a pair of handcuffs and amuses the Indians with demonstrations of their use. Red Wing, the chief's daughter, is promised by her father to one brave, but loves another. She meets her lover away from the camp and they are surprised by the other suitor. In the fight which follows, her lover kills his enemy. Fisher is promised the girl by the chief if he captures the murderer. This he does by means of his hound. He handcuffs him and secures him to a tree. Red Wing remembering the demonstration of the handcuffs, under cover of the night, releases her lover and escapes with him.
