The first episode of Laramie's season 3 had orphan Dennis Holmes join the Sherman station family of John Smith and Robert Fuller. Episode 2 brings Spring Byington to the series as widow Daisy Cooper who has traveled to "Sherman, Wyoming" to take possession of a store.

As Sherman station is the only Sherman anything in Wyoming Territory it is clear the widow Cooper has been swindled. But she's not all that's arrived on the stage Eddy Waller drives. Gloria Talbott looking to get away from nasty tempered bounty hunter William Bryant also arrives and she'd like to be the housekeeper Smith and Fuller are seeking in order to gain legal custody of Dennis Holmes. Also traveling is outlaw Jock Mahoney going incognito as a doctor. Later on Bryant comes around looking to collect the reward on Mahoney. All this before Judge Carl Benton Reid.

It all almost miraculously works out, particularly the judge who sees Spring Byington as the answer to the needs of the Laramie regulars whom she joins. Almost like an answer to a prayer.
