The part of 'He' was written with Darren O'Connor in mind. At the time of writing the script however, the film makers didn't know who would play 'She'. This was a week prior to shooting. 70 actors applied for the part which was eventually offered to Aurora Fearnley. The morning following her casting she ate her breakfast blindfolded.

Maddox Holton starred in Ben Rider's first professional short film Aquarius' Mule (2013). His father, Carl Holton, is an Associate Producer of Seven Devils.

Louise Tyler applied and auditioned for the role of Detective Elssa. Rosalyn Mitchell applied and auditioned for the role of Jasmine. They were both cast in the film, however given each other's roles respectively.

The part of Rita was written for Julia Papp. The role of Miles Lou was offered to Michael Luke Walsh after Ben Rider and Donna Skuza saw him in a production of Anton Chekhov's 'The Seagull' produced by and starring Julia Papp. Rider contacted him a few hours after the show via Twitter.

Some of the segments for the film had several drafts with different characters, locations and scenarios developed. For example, the original draft of 'Pride' revolved around an aging vampire set in a warehouse. When it came to selecting which route was selected for each segment, writer/director Ben Rider often picked what narrative was best suited to the overall anthology in terms of how it represented the sin it was focusing on, the potential it provided for style and performance range; not to mention production costs and availability of locations, which occasionally resulted in rewrites.

Prior to casting Michelle Lehane, the role of Valerie Lina was offered to Louise Tyler, who had previously appeared in Seven Devils (2015) as Jasmine. Due to scheduling conflicts Tyler was unable to accept the role. If she had, she would have been the seventh actor to appear in the anthology feature in multiple roles.

Six actors appear in more than one segment as multiple characters. Darren O'Connor appears in Lust and Gluttony. Julia Papp and Augustina Amoa appear in Wrath and Gluttony. Cornelius Geaney Jr, Emily Stride and Stacey Leigh appear in Envy and Sloth.

The first segment of Seven Devils, Lust, was originally a camera test entitled 'No Worry For Tomorrow'. After its completion Ben Rider decided to extend the short into an anthology feature set around the seven deadly sins. Each segment following this was titled twice, once as a short film and another time as the sin it will appear in the feature.

Deleted Scene: In 'Pride', model Valerie Lina and another patient, called 'X', talked in the garden about fame. The scene was cut due to the pacing problems within the segment.

Shot in 12 days across nine months.

The high pitched voice which narrates Scarecrow (Julia Papp) in the 'Gluttony' segment belongs to writer/director Ben Rider. His vocal pitch was altered in post production.

Strange anthology, large indie cast all of whom are unknown. Really creative when dealing with the seven deadly sins, though at times it felt a bit slow and arty. The last segment was my favorite, was really poetic. I think indies like this are great for new filmmakers, and I enjoy watching them. I'd recommend this film to others who like indie films and films that are slightly different from the usual types - as this is quite surreal 'nd fun.

"Seven Devils" is centered around the seven deadly sins and tells short stories in episodes to illustrate them and evoke thoughts around them.

I really have to confess that I simply don't get what the movie tries to tell me. Some of the episodes are quite entertaining, others are straight-out bizarre or just leave you wondering. Generally, it felt a bit like an art installation went berserk. I do think that a lot of thought and effort were put into this film and thus I don't want to speak to badly about it but I guess that a bit more stringency would have suited the plot and the film overall really well.

All in all this is a very artsy film that some will like and many others won't. To me the message didn't get clear but if you are a fan of small, independent films that are very brain-based, you might want to give it a try.
