This is a very silly film that supposedly stars writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. It starts in a way consistent with the real Fitzgerald--he'd drunk and wants more liquor. In a very odd move, he phones H. G. Wells in Britain and asks if the time travel in "The Time Machine" is true and Wells tells him it can easily be done...using a toilet(!). And so, using his trusty toilet, Fitzgerald flashes forward to 2006. Generally, the future sucks--especially since Fitzgerald can no longer afford the higher cost of alcohol. Fortunately for this friendly inebriate, he is able to ultimately find a way out of his financial straits and make it back to the 1920s.

The film makes very little sense, though their unflattering and funny portrayal of Fitzgerald isn't far off the mark! However, you of course have to totally suspend any sense of disbelief--as toilet time travel is probably not feasible! Regardless, the film is funny and wacky enough that you probably will enjoy it--just don't try to think so much about what's happening in this bizarro alternate reality!

PS--In the bar scene, watch the glass carefully. The amount of liquor in it changes a lot from shot to shot and this may have easily been intended by the film makers. If you like this film, also try PAPERMAN--a rather funny short also by the Snyders.

This film, by the Snyder brothers, is a charming "what if" comedy. It is initially set in the 1920's. We first see F. Scott Fitzgerald hitting bottom, as he certainly did in real life. He is shown guzzling vodka and struggling to pay his bills. In desperation, he begins making calls, and ultimately calls H.G. Wells. Wells discloses the "true secret" of time travel, which is a lot less complex than you might think. Frankly, I am surprised more of us aren't spinning around through time (the time travel sequence which is depicted is cleverly shot -- there is nothing like Jimi Hendrix's face spinning around at you)! F. Scott ends up in 2006 in New York City, right at the time an auction of many of his belongings is going off at Sotheby's. What happens next makes for a very satisfactory film, with a delightfully upbeat ending. As Fitzgerald says at the end, "Who would have thought my drinking would be worth more than my writing!"

I totally enjoyed this short film, with excellent acting, dry wit, and great appeal. It was well written and unique. I recommend it to anyone who can get a hold of a copy, because it is thoroughly fun and well done!

I absolutely loved this movie which I saw at a Long Island film expo. It is creative, imaginative and very funny. The concept is entirely original. Star Trek meets the Keystone Cops and Blazing Saddles. Famed author F. Scott Fitzgerald uses H.G. Welles's time machine to visit the 21st century. His means of travel goes far beyond "Beam me up Scottie."

The acting is great with kudos to Robert Snyder who wrote, directed and starred in the film and of course to the very talented Phil Snyder, who also directed, with lots of etceteras. I was pleased to learn that FF won a major award at the festival. Validation for all including yours truly. I'm looking forward to more films from this dynamic duo. Can't wait to see what they'll come up with next time around. Personally, I wouldn't mind more Fitzgerald in the future.
