Short summary

When a jailer hears that his sister is in love with a guy he is quite delighted to meet this guy only to find out that this guy is none other than a criminal called Pasha. Worst off the girl is married to Pasha and is pregnant with his child. The jailer is death-set against this and orders his sister to leave his house at once which she does; a few days later she returns with a new born baby boy which she hands over to jailer after passing away and then Pasha abducts the jailer son Ashok and brings him up in a crime world teaching him each and every trick of there universe. Years later Ashok is now known as Suraj a professional thief while Pasha's son grows up with the jailer to be police inspector Vijay. When the law nabs Suraj he is imprisoned and shortly after he is released he continue his trade mark with Pasha; Suraj meets and fall in love with Aarti who convinces him to give up crime which he does. When Suraj begins to earn money by the most honest means he finds himself ...

In this movie, Chunky Pandey plays a serious cop while Sunny Deol plays a cheerful convict. In the 1992 movie "Vishwatma", their roles are reversed.

Near the end of the movie, Pasha (Danny Denzongpa) has tied up Sunny Deol's hands to two adjacent pillars. In the 1975 movie "Sholay" Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan) had tied up Sunny's father Dharmendra in a similar fashion. Also the role of Gabbar Singh was originally offered to Danny Denzongpa, the villain of this movie.

Paap Ki Duniya is a remake of Manmohan Desai's Parvarish, Pran played Shammi Kapoor's role, Sunny Deol played Vinod Khanna's, Chunky Pandey played Amitabh Bachchan and Danny played Amjad Khan's role. '

Pahlaj Nihalni signed Dharmendra for the film, but Dharmendra requested he take Sunny Deol instead. He promised Pahlaj if he took Sunny, he (Dharmendra) would do Pahlaj's next film for half his market price.

Pahlaj Nihalani wanted to sign Dharmendra for Pran's role and Shatrughan Sinha for Danny Denzongpa's role. But then he realized that if he made their roles positive , his film would suffer.

Pahlaj offered the film to Ranjeeta's sister Rubina but she was not keen to do the film. She kept delaying her decision. She later stated that Pahlaj had promised her the second lead role and backed out from his promise. She went on to blame Pahlaj for the decline in her career.Pahlaj denied this.

Pasha(Danny Denzongpa)is a criminal who has entrapped the jailer's(Pran)sister in his false love.When jailer comes to know about his sister's love with a criminal,he orders her to leave his home.After some days,she comes back to his brother with her new-born baby and passes away.

Now,Pasha kidnaps the jailer's son Ashok and teaches him each and every trick of theft.Pasha wants to take revenge from the jailer because once he had put him into jail.Pasha renames Ashok as Suraj(Sunny Deol)and makes him a very big thief.

Many years pass by.Now,Suraj is a youngster.One day,Suraj happens to meet Aarti(Neelam),who runs an NGO to help poor and needy people.Suraj falls in love with Aarti.Now comes Inspector Vijay(Chunky Pandey)into picture.He also loves Aarti.But Aarti has already fallen in love with Suraj.Vijay tells Aarti about Suraj's bad practices.But,somehow,Suraj manages to convince her and promises that he will leave all these bad practices.Vijay always confronts Suraj and warns him to be away from Aarti.

The performances of the actors is good.Sunny Deol & Pran excel in their respective roles.Danny Denzongpa has done full justice with his villainous role.Neelam looks good & acts well.But,the show stealer according to me(it's my personal opinion)is Chunky Pandey.His dialogue delivery is good and he gives good competition to Sunny Deol in this film.Although,when this film had released in 1988,Chunky Pandey was relatively a newcomer.But,even then,he excelled in his role of Inspector Vijay.The confrontation scenes between Sunny Deol & Chunky Pandey are good. Other actors like Paintal & Shakti Kapoor have done well in their respective roles.

Dialogs of this film are good. Music is okay.A couple of songs are good.Main tera tota & Chori Chori yun jab are great songs.

Will Pasha allow Suraj to leave him? Will the jailer be able to capture Pasha and his gang? Who will marry Aarti?Suraj or Vijay?

To find out,watch Paap ki Duniya(1988). It's not a great movie,but it's not that bad either.
