In my opinion the "Star Wars" of Russian cinema. If you have not heard the tale of Chuka and his merry band of followers, I suggest you do yourself a favor, learn Georgian, gather up the children, and consult your local Georgian film archivist. The social commentary was way ahead of its time. It suffered from poor character development. Chuka was a little one-dimensional, but is still an easy character to sympathize with. Chuka tells Mills that the Indians are starving and will attack the fort to get food. The parallels drawn with "The Color Purple" were evident from the start, making for some rather obvious storyline faults. Much of that can be forgiven though, through the terrific casting and directing.

One of the greatest films in the history of Georgian cinema.
