Ten year old Anthony thinks that his school friend Max is battered by his father and wonders what to do.

Anthony takes a birthday invitation to Max's house. Before ringing the bell however, he hears Max's father talking violently to his friend. Scared, Anthony does not know how to handle the situation and runs home. His parents sensing something wrong with their son push him to talk and decide to take action.
