Porky's Through The Peephole: Bob Clark Looks Back (2007)

    **** (out of 4)

Excellent 15-minute interview with PORKY'S writer and director Bob Clark who sits down to talk about the various influences that went into the film. Clark starts off talking about how he had always had the idea of the film floating around but no studio wanted to touch it until he scored with the Jack Lemmon film TRIBUTE. After that we learn that Fox agreed to do it but during production they pulled the financing so the director stared filming with his own money. From here we learn about the casting and how various incidents in the film are based on real events. If you're a fan of PORKY'S then you're going to love getting to hear from Clark who discusses just about everything you could expect in such a short running time. It's really too bad that Fox didn't get more stories out of him or the rest of the cast members. As we now know, Clark and his son were killed shortly after this interview was done. Fans of PORKY'S will certainly enjoy hearing these stories and of course we get great clips from the film and even get to hear about a scene that had to be trimmed in order to get a R-rating.
