Zoe's a woman who has a hard time letting anyone into her life. She has a habit of pushing people away when they get close. She also wants to have a baby but because she has no man in her life decides to be artificially inseminated. Shortly after having the procedure she meets a guy named Stan whom she connects with. But she's still afraid to let him in and when she tells him about her pregnancy thinking he would bail but he sticks with her.

Most of this was pleasant, just nothing new, and recycled formula. Lopez is a charmer, but let's face it, she can do this sort of stuff in her sleep. I don't remember laughing out loud. The chemistry between O'Loughlin and Lopez is professional and solid, If nothing memorable.

Bottom line. Watchable, but just barely above the Mendoza line. Really mediocre stuff, and nothing I haven't seen before. Take it or leave it, your not really missing anything.

I don't get it why people so undermine this movie. It was indeed predictable most of the time but come on, there were many moment of laughter.

I saw this movie with an ex girlfriend and we were seeing many moments we had on our first dates and we enjoyed to see it was inspired from real facts. Many of the comical situations do happen in real life and it really gets to you when you see it from outside.

The main plot may be a little exaggerated, how everything comes together but it's a classic date movie and you cannot have such high expectations from it.

The cast is OK, even though Jennifer Lopez is a little overpowered by her role, but she manages in the end to pull it of. Alex O'Loughlin is the perfect "I don't know if I want to be a father but I love this woman" guy and makes every moment a real delight.

Everyone gives it a 4 or 5, I give it an 8 because you can have a blast if you watch it with your girlfriend or ex.

After seeing the disappointing "Bounty Hunter" I went to see this movie with a little hope. I was wrong because this movie failed also. The story is actually in 99% of the cases impossible to happen in real life simply because there's no man out there that will be able to raise someone's babies after just one week of relationship. Second the acting was sub-mediocre. A large amount of over acting and such a clicheic story full of scenes that we saw over and over and over again in so many movies about girl meeting boy or boy meeting girl.

The movie looks just like any other romantic movie out there, the dialogue is so childish full of pointless advices, lame flirting and the character development really sucks. The soundtrack is worse... a bunch of songs cut and inserted here and there to promote bands and stuff such as because Hollywood loves these days just to make some more profit from these movies.

With all these, the movie is good if you wanna take a chick to your local theater and then just do your thing ... if not... don't even bother.

The plot is fresh and original, at least I've never seen anything like it before. This film actually has two options. #1 To be a serious drama about a "middle aged" woman and the choices she makes. #2 To be hilarious and make the audience laugh all the way home. Somehow this movie is attempting both which unfortunately results in a chick flick so weak that not even the girliest of girls (that would be me), would bother watching.. again. It has a few good scenes here and there, but not enough to make it worth watching a second time. Being quite the J.Lo fan, this movie really was a major disappointment, as I had looked forward to her comeback. I def smell a Razzie...!

The date-night genre of choice, rom-com's, get another black eye. People have rightfully criticized stuff like Valentine's Day for giving the genre a bad name, but Back Up Plan makes even V-Day seem almost good by comparison.

Jennifer Lopez shows up, after appearing in nothing but check-out stand gossip news rags for a while. Along with Jen are a supporting cast whose acting, simply put, reeks. Jen is an uppity "bio-clock's running" 30-something who wants a relationship, plus a child. Guys flee in terror (they must have seen abominations like Gigli, Anaconda, Jersey Girl and Monster-in-Law), so she resigns herself to a single-mom future, and goes through an artificial insemination procedure. Just minutes after learning she's pregnant, she meets Mr. Right (a poor sap who hasn't seen her movies). A possibly amusing premise, but the writer clearly had no idea where to go with it. The story is jumbled, rambling, and has no clear goal. It's more like a series of skits with corny punch lines, usually mean-spirited in that the joy of parenting is grossly mocked.

The poor sap boyfriend and JLo have romantic chemistry about as hot as the polar ice cap. The weak scripting and abysmal direction may be to blame for their poor acting performances; it's not certain. The guy just mugs and stares blankly. As for Jen, she's kind to the eyes but grating to the ears: her line delivery is a patchwork quilt of sing-song, cutesy-cute, whiny, and condescending career-woman tones. At times, she appears catatonic.

Even stuff like Iron Man and Nightmare on Elm St. would be more romantic and funny than this is.

Jennifer Lopez as Zoe is a beautiful and talented woman who slummed in this movie. The film had a disconcerting incongruity to it from the beginning to the end. The opening title sequence is an animation reminiscent of a 1960's movie. The cartoon of Lopez sees all kinds of things in New York that reminds her of having a baby. The animation segues to the live action of her being artificially inseminated. We discover later in the movie that she made that choice because she had no family since her mother died when she was a child and her father abandoned her, leaving her grandmother (played by Linda Lavin of the Alice TV series) to raise her. And she did not have much longer to live.

Both my wife and I enjoyed the movie in the very beginning, but it quickly became troubling to both of us. Exaggeration is a standard comedic technique for getting a laugh, and this film relies totally on exaggeration. So I don't think they were trying to put down families, but the use of exaggeration makes it come off that way. Every child is shown to be little monsters, which is not at all true. But they are trying to set up reasons for not wanting children. The disturbing message given by this is that families are a bad thing, or, at least incredibly difficult with very little reward. This theme is vocalized by the playground dad (Anthony Anderson) who tells Stan (Alex O'Laughlin) that raising kids is "Awful, awful, awful, awful, then momentarily incredible, followed by awful, awful, awful." Zoe (Lopez) goes to a single mother's support group where later she and Stan witness a live birth in a plastic pool of water. Exaggeration is used for the comedic effect, yet the resulting message is that child birth is a horrible experience that no woman should ever have to go through. This scene was the most repulsive scene in the movie, and the lowest point of the film.

Zoe has a pet dog who through inbreeding has a weakness in its hind legs that render them unusable. Consequently the animal is on wheels and the film-makers make fun of the animal as it tips over in one scene and rolls backward trying to climb up a hill in another. I only felt sadness for the creature and considered the humor cruel and pointless.

The main plot of the story is that Zoe doesn't think that she will meet Mr. Right so has her children by artificial insemination only to meet him the moment she leaves the fertility clinic. The story is the struggle of her trusting him to accept her and the babies. But from the audience point of view I found the whole scenario to be utterly stupid and unrealistic. When they agree to move in together, they both agree that it was without promise or conditions. She places expectation on him when they are only shacking up together and are not married! Why would any woman go through such angst when no commitment of marriage is given at all! All I could think was that she was a total moron who did not deserve any sympathy. Of course the movie ends with him finally asking her hand in marriage for the "happy ending" but I found the underlying message to be a total lie that one can enter a meaningful marriage relationship by the back door. It encourages gullible youth (especially naive girls) in thinking that they can live together before marriage as a path that will lead to marriage which statistically shows that is false.

What grieved me most, though, was not just the movie, but the audience. I was appalled that so many laughed at the jokes without offense. The dumbing down of Americans is so bad that trash like this movie would be entertaining. It was a total waste of my admission price. If you really need to see it, wait until it is on DVD and you only have to pay $1 at Redbox. My recommendation, though, is don't waste your time at all.

(Synopsis) Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) has decided that she has waited long enough looking for Mr. Right to come along before she becomes a mother. Her clock is ticking, and time is running out for her, so Zoe makes an appointment with the doctor to become pregnant without a man. Within hours of the procedure, Zoe meets Stan (Alex O'Loughlin) an attractive and charming man who has caught her eye. Soon a budding relationship between them becomes a full blown courtship. Then Zoe finds out that she is pregnant after only one try at the doctor's office. She must find a way to tell Stan that she is pregnant without his walking out of her life. Stan is not sure at first, but he fully commits to Zoe and says that he is in. As the pregnancy comes nearer to the birth, both of them are unsure about the future and their relationship.

(My Comment) "The Back-up Plan" is a light-hearted romantic comedy that shows what can happen in life when you start a family in the reverse order. This movie is funny, a bit touching, and a family tale about trusting the partner you love and accepting the things he or she does. It is a feel good movie that lets the women of the world know that there are still some good men out there. The women in the audience can relate to the story, because it presents the crazy and tough times, and all the moments in-between that women go through during a pregnancy. Jennifer Lopez and Alex O'Loughlin had very good "couple chemistry" as the relationship developed. Be sure to watch the credits, because there are some hilarious out-takes. This is a movie that would be best seen when it comes out in DVD; however, if you want to see Jennifer and Alex on the big screen, go ahead. (CBS Films, Run Time 1:46, Rated PG-13) (5/10)

The times aren't easy for Jennifer Lopez. She still looks good, she might have a great voice and a killer body, but first her label drops her, and then she stars in a movie that's so terrible, it could simply not exist.

Let's start off with the plot, which is, I'll be first to admit it, not that bad. A single woman, gorgeous and sweet, decides to go in vitro, since she's always wanted a baby, and we all know how hard it is to find the right guy (apparently). And then she meets her prince charming, about 10 minutes after being done with the procedure. Fine with me, nowhere did it say that the movie has to be realistic. Other than that, the movie touches an interesting issue - when you're single, and you want a baby but there's nobody to make it with you, how do you make your love life and your dreams co-exist? But then the unrealistic situations start to pill up. All the funny moments are already shown in the trailer. And the movie itself, even though it starts interesting, gets completely out of hand - long and weird, making no sense, finally embarrassing and even disguising. The moment I personally gave up was when one of the ladies gives birth in the pool, poops while doing it and one of the women scoops it out with a fishnet - or was it when Lopez passes out into the pool and then, instead of taking a shower like any sane person would do, decides to take a walk? Acting is not even embarrassing - it's non existent. You'd think that after so many attempts to act, Lopez would finally learn a trick or two, maybe even become an actress; instead, her movie dog is better at acting than she is, or, I think it's safe to say, will ever be.

But the thing that bothered me the most is - aren't we all tired of silly romantic comedies packed with unrealistic situations that never happen? Cute, hunky men don't just get into the same cab as you, and then madly fall in love with you and decide to stick around, even though you're pregnant with a guy you don't even know. They don't drive their tractors semi nude. They don't make love to you in a barn full of cheese. That just doesn't happen, and I'm completely serious when I say that even Sex and the City 2 was far more realistic than The Backup Plan; not to mention, a lot more fun.

I was really looking forward to this movie. My friend, Carlease, is in it and the promos looked funny. I knew I was in trouble, meaning I was NOT going to laugh very much, after the intro scene between the two main characters JLo and Stan. The whole cab thing...excuse me? You have at least 5 other cabs driving around behind them and they couldn't each simply flag another one down? Or at least make a comment about it? I found it rude that she scarfs down all the muffin samples and when the Muffin Lady calls her on her stuff, she DOESN'T even buy one? Just walks away? Rude!

He was dressed too tacky on that first date. She drank wine during dinner! Hellloooo! You may be pregnant and you're drinking? And later on in the movie when the pregnant buddies got together to celebrate with champagne? Huh? What kind of writing is this? Bad. Also bad writing was evidenced by the fact that we never know exactly what the relationship is between him and the Muffin Lady till way into the movie. Wouldn't the Jlo character be at least a LITTLE curious as to the status of this woman given her initial reaction? Wouldn't you ask that on a first date? Unbelievable.

At her grandma's wedding Jlo's character is constantly using the cell phone. Rude. Also rude was dipping all that bread in Stan's stew and then wiping her face with another piece of bread. That was not cute, only gross. Ewww....he should have taken one look and dropped her like a hot potato.

By the end of the movie (which was horribly predictable), I was just sitting there sadly shaking my head. The whole premise was unrealistic that a great looking guy is going to stick around after finding out the woman he's dating is having twins. That aren't his. For what?

I say stay away. Sure Lopez looks beautiful, but that's about it. Oh, wait a minute, the birthing scene was rather chuckle-worthy.

In New York, the former executive and presently owner of a pet shop Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) has no boy-friend and only a couple of friends since she has difficulties to let people into her life. She lost her parents when she was a child and her only relative alive is her grandmother that lives in a nursing home and Zoe feeling lonely. She decides on artificial insemination to have a baby and to join a supporting group of single mothers. When she leaves the clinic very happy with the successful procedure, she meets the cheese manufacturer and college student Stan (Alex O'Loughlin) and they immediately feel attracted for each other. They date and Zoe believes she has found the prince charming and changes her expectation with the insemination. However the doctor finds that she is pregnant and now she has the dilemmatic situation: how to tell Stan that she is pregnant.

"The Back-up Plan" was supposed to be a romantic comedy; unfortunately it is a cheesy, unfunny and non-romantic comedy. The idea of "falling in love", "getting married" and "having a baby" not necessarily in this order" could have worked with a better screenplay. However, the situations and characters are too stupid to work. Zoe is described as a former successful executive but her character seems to be a housewife fan of melodramatic soap-operas. Stan is a guy trying to reach an objective in life through the study at night and Zoë's character has nothing positive to keep a steady relationship out of time. His decision of staying with an unstable woman pregnant of twins is absolutely unreasonable and never funny. The writer seems to be alienated from the concept and reality of raising a family. My vote is three.

...I knew I was in for a long and gruesome two hours. When the doctor uttered, "I'm not looking at your toenails, I'm looking at your cervix," I knew it was all downhill from here.

What can I say about this movie? First, let's discuss how unrealistic it is. Sure, movies are not always meant to be based on realism, but... meeting a random guy on the street, having the guy be weirdly fascinated by you after having met for only what, 3 minutes, falling in love with each other, and finally, having the guy so enamored by you that he is willing to be the father to your artificially inseminated children?

Just doesn't happen! Lopez and O'Loughlin have zero chemistry. I never once believed that these two people who met on the street were really "falling in love." Their "fights" were hardly believable either and I didn't sympathize with either party.

There is also a birthing scene of another woman (not Lopez) to show how Zoe (Lopez) how painful childbirth can be, but this was dragged out for far too long. The joke was decently funny at first, but after several minutes, it's like... alright. We get it. Giving birth hurts. After several minutes, it's just not funny anymore and becomes uncomfortable.

Basically, this movie is a load of garbage. I give it two stars instead of one, though, because I would be lying if I said it didn't entertain me. The dialogue at times was so outlandish that I could not help but laugh. And nearly every planned "romantic" moment between Lopez and O'Loughlin made me laugh too.

But generally, a few comedic moments and laughable dialogue is not enough of a reason to go see this film. Definitely save your money and stay far far away from this one.

I really wanted to like it. I talked to Alex O'Loughlin about the movie over a year ago, I think. And, this was Jennifer Lopez' big return to film, after a 5 year absence. Both of their characters in The Back-Up Plan are very likable. She is a successful businesswoman who has decided she's done waiting for Mr. Right and a family. She goes ahead and gets inseminated. That day, she bumps into Stan, a gorgeous funny guy who has his own farm (note the cheese, above) and dreams of owning a sustainable food shop. He pursues her, she resists. All sorts of clumsy, weird things happen along the way. Honestly, these characters and their relationship is really interesting. It's all the other junk the filmmakers put into play that I found distracting and distasteful and unbelievable. For instance, Zoe has an upscale pet store with a couple of interesting employees who have realistic questions about her and for her, but we barely see them. Instead, we're subjected to a strange single mother's group that is stereotypical and offensive. It's like the writer and director are trying to straddle a line between a sweet rom-com, like Sweet Home Alabama, and something more crude, like Knocked Up. There were so many likable and believable story threads that were just dropped, in favor of the gross out scene or something silly that just didn't make sense for the characters. I didn't hate it, because I liked the leads, I was just really disappointed and not satisfied. I give The Back-Up Plan a 6 out of 10.

The Back-Up Plan starts with a desperate girl named Zoe, who wants nothing more than to meet the man of her dreams and have a family. Mostly, the bit about the family. But having dated for years with no results she decides to take matters into her own hands and gets artificially inseminated by CRM-1014. On that very day, along comes the man of her dreams, Stan. A cheese selling farmer. He's good looking, charming, and after learning that Zoe is pregnant, is willing to help her raise this kid who isn't his. They have 9 months to date, fall in love and have a baby. Her clock is ticking like no other. So. Having watched the preview and against your better instinct you are now considering whether to watch The Back-Up Plan. And you ask, "Is this movie as cheesy as the cheese Stan sells for a living?" Let's start with the not-so-great. On their first date, Stan accidentally spills wine on Zoe while going in for their first kiss. Apparently the wine they have is 50% alcohol because their candle-lit dinner in the garden turns into a fire. In an attempt to put the fire out, Zoe inadvertently sprays Stan down with a hose and a water fight ensues. This is not the first chick flick I've seen with a playful water fight. Actually, Remember Me had one as well. I just don't understand the appeal or the entertainment value. In another scene, Zoe and Stan are standing in front of a kiddie pool with a fully dilated mother screaming her lungs out in an exorcism-like fashion. Not only does Zoe belly flop into the pool, but Stan gets a nice Shamoo-sized splash in his fear-stricken face. Disgusting? A little. Funny? A little. Before women start chastising me - I just want to state that having children is a beautiful thing and can be very painful. Women everywhere have my utmost respect for going through what they do to bear and raise children. But how may times has a movie exaggerated the insanity of giving birth? From a movie-goer's perspective this has been played out. I could say the same about a lot of the other jokes. The humor was on the lower end of the scale for me. The best laugh I got was the gynecologist repeating, "Vagina. Vagina. Vagina." in order to calm Stan down during a visit. What about the good? What if there something deeper to this shallow comedy that masquerades as entertainment? Perhaps The Back-Up Plan serves as a litmus test for the acceptance of artificial insemination in today's modern world. Must the modern woman live life at the speed of light and battle the pressures and expectations of marriage and of having children? Perhaps The Back-Up Plan shows that a true man perseveres and stands by his woman through thick and thin and babies - and a real man should. Well, then I'd have to retract all my criticism and atone by watching it once again with open eyes and a new perspective. Or maybe this is yet another failed attempt at cheap entertainment because with a $12 price tag, it might be a bit overpriced. Well, if you can first suspend your disbelief that a man is able to fully commit to a woman pregnant with someone else's baby after just 2 dates. Then, if you wade through all the failed comedy bits and the cliché romance, then maybe we can talk a bit about the good. Perhaps Zoe isn't trying to be a single mom because she can't meet the right guy. Maybe the reason is deeper and is paralleled by her grandmother who has been engaged for the past 22 years. Maybe I'm giving this movie too much credit. But what I do know is that there were at least a dozen people in the theater and there were quite a few good laughs in the audience. This movie is entertaining - to some. So if you're on the fence about The Back-Up Plan, I say just do it. I hope those that decide to watch it against my recommendations enjoy it. As for me, I'd rather watch Knocked Up again.

I think romantic comedies do not promote the idea of marriage or family life.What they sell is simply the idea of romance, concluded by a great wedding or declaration of eternal love, with which they tacitly admit that it is better to end the story when the main characters are still happy, before they land in the cruel realities of the married life.On the same way, the movies focused on pregnancy do not promote the breeding of a child, but the idealized tenderness a baby represents.The Back-up Plan is an irritating and absolutely atrocious hybrid of those styles.

One of the biggest problems from The Back-up Plan is its offensive simplification of the subjects about the romance, babies and marriage, which leads to levels of absolute stupidity.Needless to say that that clearly reflects the opinion big Hollywood studios have on the spectators, and they suppose it will not care if they insult our intelligence, as long as they put some sticky song, a few "slapstick" scenes and an attractive main couple that personifies the particular romantic fantasies from many people.Big mistake.I do not expect every movie about babies to be academic studies on the evolution of maternal roles in 21st century; but as the Baby Boom and She's Having a Baby show, it is perfectly possible to make a funny and very entertaining comedy about the subject, which does not sacrifice its intelligence or is afraid of talking to the audience with a bit more of sophistication.

Another big problem from The Back-up Plan are that it is terribly unfunny and the screenplay is truly deplorable.Jennifer Lopez and Alex O'Loughlin lack of any chemistry; O'Loughlin is one more in the list of generic and uncharismatic gallants, and I would not be surprised if this "actor"'s previous work is as a male model in romantic questionnaires from the Cosmopolitan magazine.

My recommendation is for you to avoid this execrable movie as a plague.I have definitely abandoned any hope for Lopez to recover the credibility as an actress she acquired in the 90's with Out of Sight, U-Turn and Blood and Wine.My good will definitely expired (specially with The Back-up Plan).

I really like rom-coms, it's relaxing, funny and sometimes really good movie, NOT THIS ONE! What a waste of time!!! Another trailer way better that the movie, almost everything in "The Back-up Plan" is not good, starting with storyline, acting in whole and in detail, portraying NY as a small town, costumes, over irony of single mothers support group and most of all the simplicity and predictability of dialogues, Is like watching a bad, bad 1950's era B movie.

Simply "The Back-up Plan" it is worst that "Gigli". So, save your time and money and wait(probably 2-3 weeks) until this disaster will appear in your neighborhood big box store at 2 for $5 DVD section.

I just finished watching this movie and can't believe that there are people actually think this movie is enjoyable (must be J-lo fans). The acting is bad, unbelievable/unrealistic plot, there is no chemistry between J-lo and the lead actor, the jokes are not funny.

The worst thing about it is the acting. Imagine a painfully bad film, where you want to sit it through to the end, just because of all the pain and suffering it has put you through. You keep wondering why this seemingly wonderful/nice guy would be committed to someone he barely know.

This is my first review, and maybe it will save someone from wasting their 2 hours watching this awful movie.

Still having the terrible taste of Leap Year, The Bounty Hunter, and Did You Hear About The Morgans in my mouth, I walked into The Back Up Plan wondering what I was doing there. I then walked out of The Back Up Plan wondering what I was doing there. The best thing that can be said for this film is at least there's a Jennifer without the last name Aniston starring in it. Anthony Anderson has a welcome cameo as a playground dad, and Alex O'Loughlin as Zoe (Jennifer Lopez)'s love interest, Stan is good, but what can they really do with this forced, unfunny material? There's one scene in particular that stood out to me as an example of how bad this film is. That scene is a scene in which a woman, not Zoe was giving birth. The joke is that the birth plays more like an exorcism. That's a funny premise for a joke, but they take it way too far to the point where my stomach churned. Also, Zoe takes every word Stan says as a sign that he's leaving her. He never does leave her, but I would have if I were him, because Zoe was just so unpleasant. I found The Back Up Plan to be less a movie and more a brainless sitcom that only made it to the length of 5 episodes. Yes, 5 sitcom episodes is a total of 110 minutes, so this is another romantic comedy that runs way longer than it should have. Please, for the good of mankind, skip this garbage, and rent a good romantic comedy like Better Off Dead, The Sure Thing, or When Harry Met Sally.

I loved this film, it was funny sweet and easy to watch. Nobody gets killed no violence, a pleasant change. Both actors did great, leading man Alex (Hawaii Five-0) is gorgeous beyond words, loved the scene when she was driving to his farm and crashes because she cant take her eyes off him. There's a lot of bad reviews on here about this movie but I'm wondering what some people were actually expecting, its a real chick flick and def worth a watch (with female friends, leave the boyfriend and his pack to watch Saw/ Drag me to hell ) Yes the ending was a little predictable but whats wrong with that ? Like I said just a fun girlie movie with a completely gorgeous leading man(who can also act I might add) so don't be put off by all the bad reviews on here 10/10 hthbrr2 wow you're so intense, every movie you have reviewed on here has the same input. Seriously you need to chill out !

I was so looking forward to this movie but it was absolutely so disappointing, not at all Jennifer Lopez's standard. Normally her movies are quite good and will stand the test of time but this one was so disappointing that I felt embarrassed for her, definitely worth a Razzie, but hey the year is still young, look at Sandra Bullock....Jennifer still has time to win an Oscar!! Just look at Sandra Bullock!

The first few minutes were actually quite good but after 10 minutes, I felt none of them delivered, except the DOG! It was actually quite good. The supporting cast was terrible. They were just standing around delivering lines.

This movie was so bad I made a point of looking up who directed it, because if this movie actually turns a profit, it just shows you with proper advertising and a celebrity you truly can make money out of garbage.

The plot was so bad that in any aspects if you question the realism the movie would fail miserably.

Example Jay-Lo get artificially inseminated and that same day she meets a dude, within the first date she is questioning her insemination (great mother put a lot of thought into this $10,000 procedure) and Within date #2! the dude is in a fully committed relationship with loopy Jay-Lo ready to be a father of her unborn baby with no father, he drops out of school and before you know it he's living with her.

The movie was so bad it became a topic of humor only because it was really that bad, you could criticize every aspect of this horrible money pit. Not only did I feel ripped of watching this, (and I did see this with a free pass), 1.5 hours of my life I will never get back. Even my chic couldn't believe how bad it was. Well It's my turn on the next pick and this time she's going to get it I hear "Martyrs" is a great movie, she's going to think twice before she pulls me into another flick remotely as bad as this.

PS this would have been a "1" if not for the slight glimpse of Jay-Lo in a g-String, and yes I know that was probably a body double.

First off I love J Lo, but she makes bad choices about some of her movies. After a 5 year absence I was hoping for something great like "Monster In Law" unfortunately this is not it. J Lo is getting a bit old to be playing the hapless unwed single girl, now at 40 she needs something meaty to sink her teeth into. A serious drama that is not another thrown together love story that just does not work. If you want to see this wait for the DVD but don't waste your money at the theater, you'll be kicking yourself. Now I hear J Lo is the lead in the remake of 1987's Overboard which starred Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, which bombed at the box office. Hopefull the producers and writers will come up with a remake that will be GOOD J Lo cannot afford another box office failure.

I was in the mood to watch a light-hearted romantic comedy and that is what I got. So girls out there, when you're home alone and very bored, get yourself the movie DVD, keep your ice cream bowl and your chocolate bars at your side and start watching. It's entertaining, predictable but funny and very much a chic flick. J-lo as always dresses well and looks hot even though she plays the role of a mommy-to-be in almost half of the movie and Alex O'Loughlin is a hunk. Don't know about the second half of the movie but in the first half, his character is too good to be true. Obviously, this is 'reel' life, not 'real' life but you so want to believe in it and you do 'coz he's done a fab job at acting, not to mention, he looks gorgeous. I wish life could end up being as perfect as in the film, with marrying the love of your life who happens to be hot, not one but two children when you want(even though you don't have a clue who the father is) with a third on it's way (this time, you know who the father is) and a pet shop of your own. This sure ain't a movie for guys who are into action/ thriller/horror/sci-fi films and all the rest of the boy stuff. Will couples expecting soon like the movie? ummm...not sure!! At least the fathers to be won't. All the cons of having a baby stood out more than the pro's but I guess people are pretty much aware of the ups and downs of parenthood already.

This is a great movie to see with friends, family or a date. It does not disappoint. The funny parts are well acted as are the few moments of serious dialog. I often walk out of a theater feeling like that was an hour and a half of my life I will never get back. Too many crappy endings and just drawn out movies. It's a let down to see serious faces as after a comedy is over. This is a fantastic upbeat, funny movie that will have you smiling as you walk out of the theater. Be sure to hang around a minute after it's over so you can see the hilarious out-takes. Jennifer Lopez is picky when it comes to the projects she chooses. I know if she is in it than it's going to be good. It is a pleasure to see Alex O'Loughlin in the role of the charming and attractive all around "good guy". I get bored seeing the same actors all the time. Alex has really grown as an actor and has great chemistry with Jennifer. Don't miss out on seeing this film. It's a feel good comedy that lets you know the good guy is really still out there. Two of the new girl on SNL are in the movie and really carry their own. I was impressed. I learned one thing for certain, that nothing is for certain. Live life moment to moment and enjoy it. It's nice to see a film that has a quality about it where you can take some of the content and apply it to your own life and the decisions you make. It's not the same old comedy that Hollywood spits out every year. It's worth seeing.

This movie is really cute and lighthearted. Yes, it's sort of predictable- but to some extent, that's how a lot of movies are. With that said, it's not cheesy or boring. It provides just enough laughs with just enough romance. I think a lot of women will like this movie because it's about the crazy times, the hard times, and all the moments in between while being pregnant. You don't have to have kids to like this movie, or even be an adult to enjoy it.

Jennifer Lopez shines in this role as does her co-star- Alex O'Loughlin. This movie is great for a rainy day or just a fun Friday night. Is it worth to see in theatres? Not really. Your best bet is to rent it when it comes out to DVD/Blu-Ray.

It was a wonderful funny movie, I have watched it several times..no violence just funny and heart warming...I don't understand why anyone would not like it, of course people like violence, and elicit sex ..this is just a happy movie with a happy and funny ending. It is nice to watch a movie and feel good after wards. I plan to purchase it soon as it is a keeper for me. Jennifer Lopez was funny and more beautiful than ever. Loved the grandmother and her situation too...just a feel good movie. There should be more movies made like this. I hate it when people write bad reviews about movies that are funny and enlightening but everyone is allowed their own opinion.
