» » Кости The Con Man in the Meth Lab (2005–2017)

Short summary

A state police anti-drugs-bust training meth-lab explosion reveals an adult male corpse, circa 48. It seems to correspond to inventor Paul Stegman's absent, recently turned-up father Jim, an addict, last seen by Paul's ex-business partner, Mike Campbell. That proves a set-up, the exploded corpse is conman Anthony Pongetti, who was tortured. The real Jim's corpse was shot and found at sea near a naval base. Pongetti stole Jim's identity, fooling even the family. Seeley Booth enjoys a visit from his kid brother, US Navy lieutenant commander Jared Booth, an ambitious smooth operator and Cam's ex, but with an alcohol problem. More family and drug cash complicate the case too.

First appearance for Brendan Fehr as Booth's little brother Jared Booth.

The "industrial sieve", briefly seen in beginning of this episode when Breenan and Booth are interviewing the inventor friend, first appeared in episode 11 of season 3, Player Under Pressure! It was used in an experiment by Zac and Hodgins with a skull in a turkey!!

Jon Wellner who is starring as Paul Stegmans business partner, Mike Campbell, is most famous for starring as The Lab Tech, Henry, in CSI: Vegas (2000).

Though the murder in this episode was not as fascinating as others, the storyline following Booth, his brother, and their past was very interesting. Booth is my favorite character and I enjoyed seeing a humble, selfless side of him in this episode that really showed the great man that he is. Also good development between Booth and Bones who had their first real fight in this episode. If you are like me, you love to see the slow but definite development of a relationship between Bones and Booth and this episode had a lot of great moments between them. And we got to see Bones push Booth's brother off a stool which I greatly enjoyed. Overall this was a very enjoyable episode.

This was another great episode. The crime story itself was a bit confusing, but I think that's because I was so focused on the rest.

Booth's younger brother is introduced in this episode. Jared needs a good dose of reality, but Booth has always taken care of him and sacrifices much to do so. Brennan begins to think that Booth is a loser (quite harsh, if you ask me); but is soon set straight on a few things. She and Booth have their first real fight, which causes a wedge between them through part of the episode. Brennan's eyes are opened, then she opens Booth's.

They make up over a piece of cake.

This was another sweet episode, though I was a bit disappointed in Brennan.
