This movie is based on the original stories for each films "Snowman", "Husky", "Snowman & Husky" by Jonah Henrickson, including that he combined them into a plot of the film.

From December 2013 to May 2014, Henrickson wrote 14 original stories for The Hollow Forest Chronicles franchise.

Jonah Henrickson stated that he wants to try to focus mostly on both Mutant Virus (????) and The Hollow Forest Chronicles (????) due to having a writer's block on the development of The Hollow Forest Chronicles - Books Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, and Seven and it's because he wrote two scripts for both projects (Mutant Virus (????) and The Hollow Forest Chronicles (????)) for two years each.
