Blue and the son of a local tribal leader Natchez have their eye on a wild stallion. Blue ropes the horse after the stallion escapes the Indian boy's hands. They fight over the horse but a war threatens to erupt when Indian braves and ranch hands appear. Natchez reluctantly acknowledges Blue as the owner to prevent a war. Blue over time with carrots and sugar breaks and trains the stallion. The Indian boy steals the horse while Blue and the ranch hands are at camp eating. Blue tracks the boy and horse for three days as Big John confronts Natchez who is unaware of the theft. Natchez finds and confronts his son but the braves back the son. Blue back on the hunt with a fresh horse finds the boy and horse resulting in a fight between them. Natchez warns Big John as the ranch hands go after Blue.
