Walter and Ann prepare for Ann's trip to see her mother and Jill. The two of them get in a bit of an argument about Carole before Ann leaves. Matt and Liz arrive home from their honeymoon. Matt receives a call from his boss Mr. Hanaway and that he needs to see Matt. While Carol runs to the Inn where she is staying, Walter goes to visit Matt and Liz. Walter tells Matt that he has heard rumblings that Empire may be buying or merging with Hannaway. Once Walter is home working with Carol, Ann calls to tell Walter that her mother has TB and will most likely be placed in a sanitarium. Carol makes a play for Walter, but Walter does not fall for it.
