VIOLET is about a girl who gets a job as a nanny for a rich eccentric couple and begins to notice odd habits and strange things about their house including a locked and boarded up room. Curiosity takes control and she decides to solve the mystery of the Rucastles strange behavior.

Shot in a 170-year-old house donated by the Montgomery County Historical society for $30.

Shot during a major cold snap in North Carolina in late 2007. Temperatures rarely rose much above freezing and the house where the film was shot was unheated and had holes in floors and walls.

Included in the 2008 Cannes Short Film Corner at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.

This story is adapted from a Sherlock Holmes story, "The Copper Beeches", however Holmes and Watson have been written out.
