This is a fantasy movie from Austria, with rock music, a romantic mystery story and some weird irony. What happens, if by mistake all dead people come back to Earth again? They don't do as any harm, but imagine how many people have died yet? It must be a disaster!

The couple of less known rather amateurish actors - dubbed by better known, professional voices - are not quite important. Willi Hengstler, Styrian director is more interested in the landscape, the caves and the mood as well as in the contrast between rural Styria today and 400 years ago.

`Deep Above' is not at all a great movie. It's bizarre in the first place, especially for the reason that Austrian movies with Austrian country people speaking standard German always have a bizarre touch. I'm sorry to say that but if Hengstler had let his screenplay be translated into any other language and cast other actors, it would have convinced me much more. Still: 6 points out of 10. And I recommend it to any not German-speaking cineast.
