Short summary
A remarkable assassination attempt on Sen. Morra sends Sands to summon the FBI directly, but his primary mission is to alert Brian of the need to keep the investigation from rightfully naming Piper Baird as the assassin, as her ties will ultimately reveal Morra's secret connection to NZT. Piper, on the other hand, aims to draw fellow NZT user Brian to her cause of ending Sen. Morra before he causes further murders en route to his bid for the presidency, leaving Brian feeling caught in the middle over who to believe and trust.
