Kori Tyler was asked back as a contestant after she lost on the program which aired on January 9, 2009; she had been in second place going into the Final Jeopardy! round, which featured this clue: "In the phonetic alphabet used by the U.S. military, it's the only letter that has the same name as a warrior people." She gave as her answer the letter "Z", but the show was seeking the more complete phonetic letter "Zulu", and her answer was ruled incorrect (she lost as a result, and the contestant who had been in third place - the only one to answer "Zulu" - won). She wondered if she had misread the question, and Alex Trebek said that she had, but the ruling was somewhat controversial and she was invited back.
